The owners Carmen and Enrique are very nice and helpful. The house is well equipped as they have lived there before, so guests can feel like at home. The owners responded immediately to messages and personally welcomed us.The location was very quiet with a sunset view. We would love to return to this location.

It was a big house with great views for sunset, star gazing and the volcano (2021 eruption). Spacious terrace, garden and lounges along the vegetation. The house itself has kept a traditional character with new artistic additions, making it quite interesting for me to walk around and admire it. Miriam, was there to welcome me, show me around and give me the keys. She was really helpful throughout my stay. The bus stop is 3 minutes away and it takes approximately 5 minutes to get to the closest big town of Los Llanos. Also, it's convenient if you would like to travel all the way from/to Santa Cruz de La Palma. There is a private parking as well. I believe (location wise), it helps to have a car, but for me as solo traveler (without one), it wasn't that hard to move around just by taking the local buses. The kitchen was fully equipped. The bathroom had a big bath (I really enjoyed) and extra shower and it was super spacious. There were quite a few extras, like umbrellas, sanitary items, shampoo was missing (sorry Miriam, you set the bar high probably it just happened but obviously didn't affect me at all) and of course the typical welcome Canario vino tinto. I believe it's an ideal place for long stays and for people who would like to enjoy the tranquility around. Highly recommended and I look forward to stay there if and when I visit La Palma again. PS: It was impressive the number of available lamps, spots and the variety in terms of ambience you can create within the same room.

It´s not really a tourist hub.

It´s not really a tourist hub. There are few street cafes etc. Santa Cruz is better for people who want to shop and eat, but I have found it a handier base for hiking eg you can walk to Caldera de Taburiente, and getting to El Pilar is easier from LL than SC though perhaps not by much. The weather is unpredictable both sides of the main ridge, but you get more afternoon sunlight from the west side. Tourist Information is excellent. Bus services are really good and reliable throughout the island, but there may be two hours between them. LL is more spacious than SC, which I found hemmed in by the hillside. I just prefer it!

Los Llanos was definitely a better place to stay compared to...

Los Llanos was definitely a better place to stay compared to Santa Cruz if you prefer a quieter area. Also the sun moves towards that side of the island early on in the day and you get more daylight overall in the winter at least. You're further away from the port and airport but if you're staying for a week it's not an issue anyway because there is a direct connection between Los Llanos and Santa Cruz so the drive is about 30min. If you find one side of the island too cloudy on any day, you can likely find sun on the other side of the island at the same time. Overall the island is very mountainous (volcano...) so you should be a confident driver to drive around here. Many of the great nature attractions of La Palma are only accessible via difficult and even dangerous roads. Speed limits in many places are determined by the roads not the signs. If you're renting a car, it's strongly suggested to use something with more capable engine and 4 wheel drive will likely make you happier for the extra cost. If you don't have own travel insurance that covers rental cars, make sure you take the insurance offer from the rental company (you can do everything right but the island has very narrow and steep roads and difficult parking so anything can happen).

We chose this location because we had previously visited on...

We chose this location because we had previously visited on a day trip.The town has excellent shops,cafes,bars and restaurants and you have the feel of a genuine Spanish experience rather than a "tourist" town. We stayed 3 weeks over the Christmas period and explored the west side of the island using the very efficient local bus network. We enjoy walking and this area is exceptional for the variety of scenery.

El Remo is a very small village at the end of a small road.

El Remo is a very small village at the end of a small road. Very quiet with traditional houses in front of banana plantations on the undercliff. The area to the north of it was where the volcanic eruption took place. There is a temporary road to Los Llanos de Aridane but this is being improved all the time. Only one place to eat was open in El Remo when we visited. It served typical local seafood and was very popular - especially at lunchtime and sunset looking out over the sea. This is not a typical beach holiday area; more a getaway to a remote, quiet village next to the ocean.

These apartments are in a quiet area of Los Llanos de Aridane, but only a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of town. The apartments are quiet and very spacious. The gardens and pool area are stunning, and maintained daily. Full of tropical plants and many birds and cats. The roof-top sun area gives amazing view to the mountains, and the stars at night. This is the second time that we have stayed there, both times for the Transvulcania Ultra Marathon.

The staff at reception were excellent. We had to book at the very last minute, as our flight home had been cancelled due to Storm Claudia, and we were told we were going to have to sleep in the airport! The reception at the hotel stayed open later than normal, so that we could check in, and made us feel very welcome. Thanks so much 💛

Spotless clean, very comfortable and spacious appartement in the heart of Los Llanos de Aridane, only minutes away from the city centre, shopping and dining opportunities - but in a calm neighborhood. Our fridge was filled with drinks and food - a really nice gesture by our host which saved us buying breakfast items ourselves.
