FAQs about hotels in Madrid

The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

Madrid is a beautiful city, with probably the best public transportation system in Europe. I love eating where the locals go, and the food is always great and inexpensive. The "menu del dia" with 3 plates, drink and coffee ranges from 12 to 16 euros. Don't miss the many museums, El Prado museum is one of the best in the world. If you stay more than three days, from Madrid you should visit Toledo, Segovia and Avila, all three can be reached via high-speed train, but you must get your tickets online 2-3 days in advance!

I was not impressed with the number of smokers in public in Madrid Many cities have banned smoking in public such as parks I found it very offensive as we are used to much cleaner air I will not return to Madrid for that reason!

Madrid is a fantastic, lively city with great public transportation. A hidden gem is the Museo Naval – a stunning museum with lots of ship models, perfect for kids, and free to visit with just a suggested donation.

Must return some time in the future to see more of this wonderful city. The Prado Musuem and the Royal Palace are absolutely essential to visit. Thyssen collection is over-rated in comparison, however, it still should be included in any itinerary. Walking around the city is a pleasure with beautiful architecture and lively shopping outlets. Food is not a problem with so many options available. A visit for at least three full days is needed, plus at least a one full day trip to Toledo, which should be included in any itinerary to Madrid or give it a two day trip on its own.

The location is excellent, right in the city centre but quiet, and a short walk away from several metro stations. The room was large enough and it was cleaned well every day. The mattress was good and two pillows were provided: a thin, soft one and a thicker one, so you can choose which one you like best. All hotels should do this. In addition, there is a small desk, excellent wifi and airconditioning. Friendly staff. When I return to Madrid I will definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

The hotel is located very centrally, a couple of minutes' walk from Puerta del Sol and the metro interchange, and a short walk from the attractions in central Madrid, with the whole city centre being easily walkable from the hotel if not taking the metro option. There are countless restaurants and bars nearby and a choice of local supermarkets. The hotel is clean and check-in was friendly. Compared to all other comparable options the price was excellent.

Nice hotel, great restaurants around but removed from the tourist part of Madrid. Very conveniently located with a 3 minute walk to the train for direct access into the city centre or very cheap uber into the city. Breakfast is good value so recommend adding that.

Excellent facilities, location, hotel style, and friendly service. One of the best hotels we have stayed in Spain! And a big plus, so close to El Corte Ingles and the city centre, museums, metro. We loved it.
