The scenery is spectacular, the food is delicious, and the people are lovely. I highly recommend this destination, especially if you love nature or enjoy hiking, as exploring the area is undoubtedly a unique experience, not only for its distinctiveness but also, and above all, for the beauty of its forests.

A small, very peaceful village and the ideal place to start...

A small, very peaceful village and the ideal place to start a walking route to Las Médilas. I would even say that this village is the best starting point for hikes to Las Médilas. Both the Hotel Rural and the Palleiro Pe D Forno are good places to stay and eat. Ideal location to start hikes.

We were looking for what we found in Orellán: a small town, beautiful natural surroundings, hiking trails, and cultural tourism. Peace and quiet, and we really liked our accommodation. However, without a car, there's not much to do in the area, as it severely limits your ability to explore other valleys.

The area is beautiful. We also stayed at the O Palleiro country hotel, which was a fantastic choice thanks to its location, its charm, its cleanliness, and the food. Isabel's service was exceptional; she was attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. It was an unforgettable few days.

Located at a strategic point for visiting Las Médulas, yet much less crowded than the village of Las Médulas itself, Orellán serves as the starting and ending point for many interesting routes through the area, and its viewpoint is a must-see.

What a nice place to be! A small but well decorated and clean room close to Las Medulas. Very super extraordinary!!! nice owners who cooked a very good and authenthic meal for me for dinner and also served a typical spanish breakfast for me (allone). Definitely a place to stay when exploring the wonderfull region of Las Medulas and El Bierzo. The Orellan view point is only 5 minutes by car and gives best views on Las Medulas UNESCO World Heritage site.
