We only had one full day in Puerto del Rosario but enjoyed...

We only had one full day in Puerto del Rosario but enjoyed exploring the old town which has several places of interest, old church, museum and windmill. The coastal walk to the south of the town has several interesting sculptures as does the town itself. We didn't have time to go swimming but the beach looked very clean and inviting!

Nice, busy, authentically Canarian town. Not a resort. There are ( apart from days when cruise ships come in ) few non-Spanish voices to be heard. A real place, which has little of the artificiality of resorts. As such, it would not appeal to everyone. Great shopping and lots of good restaurants. There is a large shopping mall with good shops in it. A bit hilly, however. The front is interesting and enjoyable to walk along. And everyone is friendly!

Puerto del Rosarios is a capital of Fuerteventura and isn't...

Puerto del Rosarios is a capital of Fuerteventura and isn't a typical touristic place. At 20-00 are almost no people on the street. Not so many restaurants and cafes to eat. If yon need more touristic infrastructure and entertainment you need to go to Corralejo or Caleta de Fusto.

It is quiet and traditional.

It is quiet and traditional. There are some beautiful buildings and a lot of sculptures and murals. It is a bit run-down - a lot of bars and shops near the sea front are closed. It seems to suffer from a lack of tourism because of the popularity of modern resorts on Fuerteventura.

I did a lot of research and the best value for money car...

I did a lot of research and the best value for money car hire, and I used them for a month, was Autoreisen at the airport. I went for a cycling holiday, but not too strenuous, and there are a good few miles of relatively flat tracks along the sea front, either side of and through, puerto del rosario. I was a little unlucky with quite high winds, a bit out of character for February/March. Aldi, Lidl and the large chain Spanish supermarkets available in easy car distance. I don't know why but the locals and visitors are much more friendly on Fuerteventura than they were on Lanzarote when i went there for a month last year.

This is a real town for locals not primarily tourists , there less restaurants than more tourist places and they are dotted about the town. It’s got a port and harbour as well as a small beach and a massive shopping centre . Generally the place looks like it’s undergone some improvements, paving, buildings etc , away from the port area there are new , old and abandoned areas all in various stages but I always felt safe. There doesn’t seem to be much nightlife unless we just didn’t find it, even at weekends. We were lucky to be there for the carnival so that was interesting. It’s ideally located to tour the island as we did in our 2 weeks stay.

Best option in town. Nice house with a full equiped room, confortable bed, streaming TV, full kitchen and washing machine available for laundry. The host is very wellcoming and will provide you with local insight for nearby restaurants, island's transportation and sightseeing. Cleaness, tranquility, freedom and independence. Very good choice if you are looking to get by the airport, conmute arround Fuerteventura or stay in Puerto del Rosario.

The apartment was spacious clean and had everything needed for a good stay the outside space was really good it was a little difficult getting transport from the airport we got the bus to the bus station then followed Google maps to apartment which took 25 mins the local bus does a 60 minute route around Puerto del Rosario but there is no information on the internet or at the bus stops but by trial and error we managed to work them out

Great place to stay. Close to all amenities. Two great restaurants on the other side of the street. Delicious food. Terrace on the roof of the house. Beautiful views over the ocean! If I were to come to Puerto del Rosario, I would definitely choose this place.
