Tijola is best visited in Spring and Summer.

Tijola is best visited in Spring and Summer. I went there in December to visit friends who live nearby, before returning to Granada. Cela (Lucar) is 4 Km distant - especially enjoyable for its thermal spa lake and excellent restaurant (Casa de Tia Matilda). Tijola itself has two fine restaurants where the food is delicious and locally produced and the servings are gargantuan (they feed hungry farmers and metal industry workers after all). Also staying on a Saturday for the local produce street market (one of the largest in Almeria) is well worth it. Else, Tijola does not have anything much to see - it is best used as a convenient place to travel around the Northern Almeria countryside.
