Exceeded expectations. Fantastic location above the beach yet only minutes walk from all the restaurants and bars. Clean and comfortable with a good breakfast to dry you up for the day. Oh, and the sunsets viewed from there are stunning

We were very tired peregrinos, having recently stayed at a pleasant, but very squeezy and stuffy, inside room in a 2 star hotel in San Sebastian. The Zumaia Hotel had space, wide and comfortable beds, and plenty of light and access to fresh air. Huge contrast. Everything worked and was well cared for. Bar below was convenient, Eroski market almost next door. Wonderful! Breakfast excellent and quick delicious coffees. I would stay again.

I loved everything. The host is super nice, the rooms are nice and spacious and warm, there is not much noise outside, and you can see the sea. The bed was super comfy, my best nights of sleep for months! Don't forget to spend a whole day hiking the GR-121 route to Deba, the route starts very close to the hotel and you will love it.

We were looking for a beachfront hotel between Bilbao and San Sebastián, somewhere close to the Balenciaga Museum for a weekend stay. Hiru Uhinak turned out to be a pleasant surprise – great location with easy access from the train station. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nicely designed, with good quality furnishings and plenty of space. The food at the restaurant was excellent, and the spa area is one of the largest I’ve visited in a boutique hotel of this scale. It was just after Easter so we had a peaceful and relaxing time both at the property and in town.

A very nice, walkable, small town. A great beach with simple food/bar but also flysch rock formations. Several excellent hikes right from town center. A harbor and breakwater. Decent food and five minute drive from Getaria with fabulous grilled seafood both casual and Michelin class.

Zumaia is a pretty town, with a pleasant town center...

Zumaia is a pretty town, with a pleasant town center offering all amenities and easy access (the train to San Sebastian was ideal). It's just a shame that the locals are not very welcoming to tourists (parking, restaurants, and shops), and are sometimes even unpleasant, which somewhat spoiled our stay.

We stayed four nights and it was more than enough.

We stayed four nights and it was more than enough. The place is beautiful but inconvenient; parking is impossible. The restaurants, bars, etc., are packed, with less-than-ideal service and are also expensive. There are two beaches, but both require a long walk to reach.

It's a town with a fantastic beach and an impressive rocky coastline. Everything is close by: restaurants, a bakery, and a supermarket. There's also a very lively square where people of all ages chat, eat, play, dine, and drink.

The yacht is located in the marina, but Miguel can take you out on a trip when requested. Miguel is friendly and patient and the area is beautiful. You can make the trip as long or as short as you want. When one of us got seasick, Miguel returned to the marina straight away. You spend the evening underneath the stars on deck and you wake up in the middle of the marina. Definitely something different than a luxury hotel, but we loved it!
