KazakhstanThe owners of the place are very hospitable. The village is remote from big cities and that makes it the best to spot auroras. We were lucky to see them at the first night. The village is just 1.5 hours away from Rovaniemi or Kittila/Levi ski resort, so you can easily drive there by car if you want more action. I recommend doing snowmobile tour which can be arranged by the owners of the village.

LatviaWe really enjoyed our stay. Unless it is a bit far from Rovaniemi and the road can be hard depending of the weather, it is really a nice and quiet place to stay. The comfortable apartment with sauna and especially the surrounding is beautiful. We had the chance to see northern lights and beautiful stars in the sky. The food and the breakfast is also amazing.
