Salo is a small place with everything essential. It has pharmacies, shopping malls, restaurants, a river, and a McDonald's, to begin with. It is stunning in autumn. It may not be a place with lots of entertainments, but is just suitable for a relaxing weekend trip, with affordable accommodation and restaurants, and discounts in the shopping mall.

The center of Salo is probably not the busiest place and...

The center of Salo is probably not the busiest place and most restaurants close around 9 pm even on Friday nights. However, you can find standard services and large supermarkets there. However, there is a lot to see, after all, the area stretches from Kemiönsaari to Meri-Teijo and all the way to Halikko with its ironworks villages, manors and old churches, not to mention the pumpkin weeks in October.

The accommodation in Vuohensaari was only 4.4km from the...

The accommodation in Vuohensaari was only 4.4km from the centre of Salo. Bikes available for rent, easy to get around, good cycle paths. Salon's market is located in the Plaza, a two-part shopping centre. Nice walking paths and a river through the centre. A lovely road to Teijo National Park is about 30km away.

There was too little time to explore the town properly. The city center was crowded (market) and it was difficult to find a parking space. Due to the traffic, it was impossible to find a place to eat that had free parking nearby.

On Friday at 8:30 PM the main street was completely deserted...

On Friday at 8:30 PM the main street was completely deserted. The restaurant was supposed to be open, the street looked completely dark. Luckily I tried the door and it opened. The restaurant was on the second floor. Two other customers. The food and service were really good. It is a very quiet city. It was impossible to get breakfast supplies on foot after eating. The accommodation did not have breakfast on the weekend

These charming little summer towns.

These charming little summer towns. The market and the area around the river were lively, there were also several cafes and restaurants. Sokoski was also found for the shopper. The Voimala café next to the library offered very cheap coffee and pie. There was also a golf course near the city center.

The place is adorable and cozy, the rooms feel like staying at grammas place, the owner is really nice, I can only recommend this place ❤️ situated very near Salo center (about 15min with car), clean and comfy beds and just really nice atmosphere
