Patricia, our host, is exceptional. Her hens provided our breakfast eggs. The fruit bushes in her garden provided the homemade preserves. I swam in the garden pool, 26degrees, at night under the stars of the Auvergne. Magical. Patricia is helpful, generous and her property is clean, well cared for and its position in a peaceful location. My husband and I cycled (non electric bikes) and were able to safely store our bikes under cover. My husband writes: I saw some review say CP was dirty. Whaaaaat? They must have gone to a different place because Patou is fastidiously clean. And the bedroom was so comfortable with its stripped floorboards, handsome fittings and antiques.

Facilities are “home” like, and after a long day driving under the sun, that swimming pool is just what the doctor ordered. The place is so convenient and welcoming. Ghislaine and Philippe are there, should you need them for help or advice on where to go to and visit around “Les gorges de la Loire”. I knew nothing about those, quite a marvellous find! One of the rare places I experienced where I felt a slight pinch at the heart when leaving in the morning. Thank you Ghil and Phil, as Schwarzenegger would say “I’ll be back”
