we liked the old fashioned french charm of the hostellerie with all the knick-knacks and the beautiful old furniture. the historical background is clearly visible, adjacent to the town gate. the beds were comfortable, the breakfast is sumptuous and well prepared.

I was very disappointed by the near absence of small village shops. There are almost exclusively hotels, restaurants, and bars. The only place to buy groceries is the Auchan supermarket.

A village with a charming historic quarter. Friendly shopkeepers. All amenities on site: shops, supermarket, petrol station. Ideally located for exploring the Auvergne and Cantal regions.

Besse and Saint Anastaise are a bit deserted in April. Many shops and restaurants are closed… However, it's the perfect time for hiking all around: not too many people on the trails, flowers everywhere, magnificent spring landscapes…

I return to this place with just as much pleasure as ever,...

I return to this place with just as much pleasure as ever, summer or winter. The landscapes are magnificent and varied. The hikes are exceptional, especially around the lakes. I'm always disappointed by the welcome from tourism professionals and shopkeepers, who remain cold and distant.

The views from the chalet are magnificent.

The views from the chalet are magnificent. It's a shame that during this Ascension period, many shops were closed, including the bakery and small boutiques, even though there were huge crowds.

Easy to find with loads of free parking. The staff speak good English and are very friendly and professional. The rooms are very large, clean, well appointed and very comfortable (apart from our air conditioning wasn’t working properly - which was the main reason we chose this hotel. They did try to fix it but weren’t successful). The food in the restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced.

Its location was amazing. We loved walking to the medieval city. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. We used the heated swimming pool and jacuzzi - very clean and well maintained. Our evening meal was delicious and we enjoyed our breakfasts. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

The studio is in a superb location at the heart of Super-Besse. The apartment block is easy to access and is well looked after. The facilities in the studio were perfect for our needs. Keys are collected from a hotel in the main town of Besse and this was easy and efficient.

The location was amazing. A short walk from the beautiful village and lovely restaurants. Ideal location for exploring and seeing the stunning countryside. The rooms were great with very comfortable beds. Everything you needed in a hotel room.
