Where to start ... A+ Architecture did an amazing job in transforming this into a unique hotel retaining many of the prison's original architectural features. The lap pool / deck and restaurant have an incredible view over the Orb Valley. Loved all the artwork displayed everywhere (these are available to purchase). The history of this 19th century former prison is fascinating - once home to a guillotine last used in 1949. The room is naturally the size of a cell (very comfortable bed) and the bathroom is very well appointed: the next-door cell was used to create it, and the other half of that cell became the bathroom for the cell next door and so on. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. Great location next to the Saint Nazaire Cathedral and a short walk to restaurants which is good because the restaurant at the hotel is closed every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evening. Les Halles de Beziers is a fantastic food hall with a large variety of food options and it's a short walk away from the hotel.

The shower was amazing. The location is 5 minutes walk to the bus station (which is what we needed) and only a 20 minute walk to the train station (uphill if you are arriving, downhill if you’re leaving). We asked the receptionist for glasses to drink our champagne, and it was no problem. Also he refilled my water bottle for me.
