Béziers is a nice middle-sized town with a long historic past which has left some very interesting monuments.
There are a number of excellent restaurants which offer a large choice of food.
I recommend visiting the place in spring or in summer .

Enjoyed visiting the Cathedral and the old town.
Enjoyed visiting the Cathedral and the old town. Also visited Les 9 Ecluses de Fonseranes and Tunnel du Malpas (Canal du Midi), and Oppidum d'Enserune (a 2,500 year old celtic settlement). Also drove to the nearby coastal towns but were disappointed that there was not more activity for the time of year (early/mid September).

I ended up staying in Beziers spontaneously without doing any research, and that's also how I ended up at Hotel la Prison. It was a great surprise all around. There are loads of things to see around Beziers, and a lot of history I had no idea about. A good cultural getaway and escape.

Quaint little city.
Quaint little city. The cathedral is beautiful and the locks are a must to visit. The town is currently redeveloping so there are works taking place but it is still lovely to walk by the orb and in the old town. There are lovely restaurants and bars. People are lovely ne welcoming.

Beziers completely surprised me as a city break , there was so much on offer here
1) City was walkable and I found it very safe
2) The sites are amazing, Cathédrale Saint-Nazaire was stunning and at night (until the end of August) there was an amazing free light show inside the Cathedral (Until 31st August 2023).
3) There was also a fountain show in Place Jean Jaurès with a light garden (until 31st Aug 2023)
4) Large variety of places to eat and drink throughout the city
5) Great walks in the city long the river, over Pont Vieux bridge and up the canal di midi and the The nine Locks of Fonseranes.
6) Good bus public transit system
7) Train connections to Adge and then bus to Cap D'Adge for a stunning seaside town and beach

This was a great surprise, a very pretty town with a great range of shops and restaurants. It is small and very easy to walk around if you use the main pedestrian route which leads from the train station up through a charming park. The towns of Sete, Agde. Narbonne and Perpignan are all only a short train ride away.
It is a small hotel. We had a room on the ground floor, car in front of it, handy! Two seperate beds, perfect. Bathroom with shower in the bath. Not my preference but it was only for one night.
You can also have dinner there. The ambiance is not inviting, but the food is really very good!
The breakfast was excellent, cereals, pancakes, eggs, omelettes, different French cheeses, ham and much more
I would use this hotel again
And most important dogs are welcome.
A great reception from the hosts of this excellent BandB guesthouse. Great view from our balcony room out to the Pont Vieux, so close to the old medieval city sights, especially the magnificent Beziers Cathedral.A superb plentiful breakfast & most helpful informative hosts made our stay excellent, one to remember.
Was made to feel very welcome by the friendly owners. Hotel had a lovely 'quirky-ness' about it and was ideally placed. After a good sleep, despite the heat (glad my room had a fan!) I was made a fabulous continental breakfast. I would stay here again if I am ever return to Beziers.
Absolutely beautifully restored and decorated apartment smack bang in the center of Beziers. The owners were fantastic and had kitted out the apartment amazingly. great art on all the walls and eye for detail. Very friendly and helpful, very comfortable, beautiful stay!
Excellent location at a very good price. This isn't a luxury apartment, and it's not new and sparkling. But it is comfortable, well equipped, and everything is in good working order. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom. We would stay here again.
Everything is amazing. Fun and gorgeous interior design. Close to city. La Villa Guy makes the whole trip. We spent an entire day just sitting by the pool. The staff are so accommodating and make it feel like a family. Didn’t want to leave.
Why stay in soulless chain hotel box when for a better price you can stay in this converted Nunnery with charm by the bucket! If those stairs could tell a tale? I will now be using this for my regular trips to Beziers.
Good amenities. Big enough room. Fridge cooker, microwave if you needed to eat for yourself. Quite area and not too far away from the centre of Béziers. Staff were pleasant and friendly. All good.
It is the right hotel for travellers, if you need a stop without problem of parking and strategic position, this is the best option. A very confortable swimming pool and restaurant is very nice.
Silvia was lovely approachable and very helpfull telling us where to go to see the best places and entertainment also excellent customer service an asset to hotel Imperator
The address, when put into SatNav, is inaccurate. We spent a while driving round trying to find it. Otherwise, a perfect stop over on our way to holiday in south of France.
Nice, pleasant boutique hotel. Friendly staff. Good sized room. Clean. Excellent continental breakfast that you could have indoors or outside on a nice terrace,
Cosy very comfortable , supremely well equipped . Quiet rural feel yet only 2 miles from
Béziers . Marie-Jo gave us very helpful advice on what to see and do
What a delightful little hotel perfect location overlooking the park close to the old town and the train station. The proprietor was so nice and very helpful
