Our stay at Chateau Marieville was exceptional, including the welcome we received from our hosts. The Chateau and it's setting are magnificent. The interior decor is beautiful and elegant and our room, the Vienne, was very comfortable, quiet and spacious and overlooked the valley. Our meals were superb! We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Thanks to Hubert and Edith for the music, the history and the conversation.

We quickly realized that the Chateau bore no resemblance to...

We quickly realized that the Chateau bore no resemblance to the photos or description and certainly not the glowing references. Dilapidated, bizarre decor, hot and dusty with guest rooms on third floor accessed by steep wooden stairs with no visible fire escape. Hosts instructed the en-suite toilet was only to be used at night and directed us to shared toilet. Hosts advised us not to open the window despite the heatwave. Turned out the window was held together with sticky tape. We decided the best value for money was to abandon our prepaid room and find alternative accommodation.

The chateau was unique - fantastic modern art in restored...

The chateau was unique - fantastic modern art in restored chateau. The hosts are charming. The food was excellent home cooking and our host entertained us with his professional standard piano playing! A really unusual and highly recommended experience!
