This was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at. Was genuinely astounded when we arrived given how affordable it was. The beauty and tranquility puts it, for me, above even the most luxurious of hotels. We stopped here for two nights on our return journey to Scotland from the South of France to allow us to visit the Tour De France stage in Laval. We had spent a fortnight in Cap D'Agde with an autistic 8 year old and our stop here was the first time in the holiday that we were truly able to relax with a complete absence of stress as there were no rules she could break. As well as the cute little shepherd's hut you have a beautiful, safe, fenced off area of grassy woodland with swings, table tennis, badminton and a hammock for the kids as well as loungers for the adults. On the other side of the fence is a field: home to a cow, donkey and a couple of goats which the children (and adults) can pet and feed whenever they wish. A beautiful continental breakfast is brought out from the farm at the time of your choosing to eat on your terrasse. There's also a supply of local farm produce such as jams, chutneys and ice creams which can be bought for a supplement. The couple who run the farm are polite, helpful, attentive and very easy going. Absolutely perfect hosts. The only small negative feature is that the hut can get very warm in the hot summer weather and as there's no air conditioning it is recommended to take a couple of extra fans. Other than that the place is perfect. Overall the place is absolute heaven. I intend to return here for a longer stay with the family in future.

The people who run this place gave us good information so we enjoyed the village through their eyes. The situatie of the village is good. There are shops, but not much to see/do overthere so you need a car to go to interesting places like Fougeres

Peaceful setting, exceptional surroundings, a must-see...

Peaceful setting, exceptional surroundings, a must-see village with a bakery, bar, and crêperie. Guests have access to the kitchen in the shared dining room. Breakfast is included and reasonably priced. Comfortable rooms, plenty of clean linens, and comfortable, spotless bedding.

Chailland was a stopover for us on our way to Brittany.

Chailland was a stopover for us on our way to Brittany. The town itself is small but charming. Further destinations in the surrounding area are possible. However, a car is absolutely essential. We would definitely stop there again on our next trip, as the accommodation was simply fantastic, not least because of the excellent food.
