Everything was special. The place, a converted farmhouse with barn, the garden area with vegetables and fruits we could eat. The spacious house is a successful combination of preservation of the past and stylish modernisation. The green area is habitat to many different birds. A quiet place with several tables for tea, breakfast, dinner... The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. Nearby a small town full of character and not far away impressive river gorges.

We struggled to appreciate the uniqueness of the hotel with...

We struggled to appreciate the uniqueness of the hotel with its querky decor and original features as the attention to quality of service was poor. Greeted at the hotel door by 2 large dogs which was a little intimidating even though we have our own dog. Also, the lack of refreshments in our room and no shower gel/shampoo, etc. Small details but important when travelling on holiday with limited toiletries and no nearby supermarket to purchase these. We’d messaged the owners on booking to have an evening meal but on arrival were told we hadn’t done so and no food was available! Luckily one of the only 2 places serving food locally was open so we did manage to eat - otherwise we’d have had nothing! We found our stay very uncomfortable due to a lack of room fan/aircon in the very warm summer heat. Although, it was particularly warm during our stay, the offer of a room fan would have been very much appreciated. Sadly, there was a further disturbance to our stay from noisy guests who were not requested to quieten down after 11pm. Not unreasonable for the owners in such a small hotel as this to request their guests respect each other. So unfortunately the unique experience we thought we would have, was unique in all the wrong ways :(
