The old French house was charming and the owners were very helpful, sociable and friendly. We had pre dinner drinks with our hosts in the garden and were then served a lovely meal with free flow wine, also in the garden

Everything was special. The place, a converted farmhouse with barn, the garden area with vegetables and fruits we could eat. The spacious house is a successful combination of preservation of the past and stylish modernisation. The green area is habitat to many different birds. A quiet place with several tables for tea, breakfast, dinner... The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. Nearby a small town full of character and not far away impressive river gorges.

Everything was amazing, better than I could have hoped for. The peece and tranquility was exactly what I needed and I found it here in abundance. A beautiful house set in serene surroundings beside a gentle flowing river. The hosts went out of their ways to make us feel at home. We arrived tired after a long journey and were very hungry. Thierry cooked us a wonderful 3 course meal which we ate in the garden followed by a bottle of their wine and their amazing company. We will definitely be back to see Thierry and sylvan, I suggest you visit before the price rises, it is ridiculously underpriced at the moment. A perfect stopover!

Because it is still an occupied town, it has a totally...

Because it is still an occupied town, it has a totally different feel than the others I visited. It's easy to walk around, though I was assured I would get lost in the concentric circles of roads! Excellent creperie and an outstanding restaurant or 2 but you do need to book.

A very pretty, magically peaceful village with two...

A very pretty, magically peaceful village with two restaurants. It is a lovely place to stroll and spend a night or two. The restaurants are not always open in the evenings in low season so it's wise to check before booking your accommodation.

For us it was an excellent stay.

For us it was an excellent stay. If the temperature was hot, say 30°C may be a problem, no A/C. But when we were there it was mid twenties so all good. This place is a good un. The village is picture postcard, enough resturants and not pizza joints. All very French. Your hosts will book you a table if you ask. No 15 is now on my list of stops when travelling up and down France.
