Everything : location, communicatiin with the host, cosiness, equippement : we were very tired when arriving and didn't want to go out for dinner : there was pasta and sauce : couldn't be better ! And a welcoming basket with coffee, tea, bisquits ! This host cares for his guests until the smallest detail ! Anytime again !

Bijou little apartment very French in a cute little narrow old fashioned street. 10 mins walk from station. Restaurant and shops near by. We only stayed one night enroute by train from Turin to Nice. Very convenient. Looks like a great place for walkers. Lots of people with backpacks and c walking sticks around.

Very nice apartment overlooking the river in a Marvellous town with many walks. Key was easy to find. Easy railway access (maybe 10 min walk). Trains to Ventimiglia and Nice and Tende.

Quiet town, damaged by recent flooding, friendly people,...

Quiet town, damaged by recent flooding, friendly people, lovely hiking. The place is not highly developed for tourism, which is what I liked. A little bakery with excellent local specialties, a small grocery store also featuring local cheeses, a single restaurant with few customers, a pizzeria. A lot of local character and authenticity. Hiked to Saorge and Bergh Inférieure, both very interesting and beautiful. Saorge has more restaurants and shops and expats but is still much quieter and more authentic than similar towns in more accessible regions which are 100% tourist traps; Saorge still has some inhabitants. Fontan is simply isolated and rustic.
