My experience at this hotel was incredible. I booked my stay the day of, and they welcomed me with open arms and assisted me with all my needs. I arrived after a bike race where I had crashed, and they assisted me in getting to the hospital, finding food, and getting to my room. Beyond their wonderful assistance, their accommodations and facilities were absolutely beautiful. The Château's dining room is gorgeous and features a lovely breakfast (at additional cost) in the mornings, and the overall grounds of the hotel are very clean and calm as well. Although I was a solo traveler from the United States with an injury from the bike race, I the support from the staff at the Chateau allowed me to relax and feel at home during my stay here. So grateful for all of their support and assistance, and 100% would come again.

A small town in northern France that enjoyed a period of...

A small town in northern France that enjoyed a period of glory in the 19th century but fell into decline in the 20th... Ecotourism seems to be giving it a new lease on life, which is great! There are lovely walks in the forest, quite a few ponds, and tasty local specialties, especially if you like the local cheese: Maroilles. The restaurant at the Etangs des Moines is perfectly adequate.

Fourmies has a pleasant town center with shops and restaurants. It's a wooded area that's perfect for dog walks. The Ardennes are not far away; we took a day trip to Fondry des Chiens near Nismes, Belgium.

I can't rate Fourmies because we arrived in the evening and...

I can't rate Fourmies because we arrived in the evening and had to leave the next morning, which is a shame because there's a textile museum and hiking trails with ponds. (Information from the hosts.) We had dinner at La Petite Ferme: a very pleasant time in a beautiful setting. The food was excellent and the service was great.

The breakfast was excellent, bread just out of the bakery, nice cheese, jam, and meat. The hotel is an old aristocratic building, well renovated, with quality furniture, etc. The pool and jacuzzi were also nice with a good view of the backyard.

Good clean and well presented hotel, good supply of power sockets and lovely surroundings. Had stayed here 40 year ago and it was good to return to find things much as I remember but of course updated.

Beautiful hotel in lush grounds. We stayed in a spacious and more modern room in the annex. Staff were very welcoming, restaurant attached to the château offered a lovely dining treat.
