This is a truly extraordinary hotel, set in a unique and stunningly beautiful location. The hotel is located about a 45 minutes walk on a good trail from Gavarnie (they will collect your luggage and transport by 4x4). On arrival you stay at the only building located within the glorious Circque de Gavarnie, a stunning location that Victor Hugo called "the Colosseum of Nature." The hotel is absolutely top quality and is possibly one of the most Romantic hotels on the Planet! Unique, remote and exceptional in every way. First class, service, food, design and of course in a completely unique location. Wonderful!! If you are in the area, don't miss this!

The hotel is right on the walking path to Cirque de Gavarine. Room was good size, there were 2 bunks and 1 bed. We has the room to ourselves. Also had a balcony which was nice, bathroom good size. Parking out the back of the hotel. We stayed 2 nights. Very close to everything in town. Staff were very nice.

Charming host. The grocery store was very close and convenient. The place was a great starting point for nice walks in fantastic landscape. The view from the apartments was beautiful.

The location was fantastic. Very clean place and the owner is always available on the phone if required. Ample parking for multiple vehicles and certain areas also has good range for mobile with 4G internet.

Gavarnie is a beautiful area.

Gavarnie is a beautiful area. Despite the many tourists, it's quiet and very clean. The surrounding nature is amazing. It's worth visiting for the beautiful hiking trails and the view of the Grande Cascade. I also recommend this hotel, with its friendly and helpful staff, also speaking English.

The famous Gavarnie cirque and the Brèche de Roland are...

The famous Gavarnie cirque and the Brèche de Roland are particularly beautiful destinations in the Pyrenees, and rightly so. The surrounding area offers a wealth of other fantastic destinations for hikers, cyclists, and art and culture enthusiasts.

Gavarnie is really only suitable (for a stay) for hikers.

Gavarnie is really only suitable (for a stay) for hikers. Indeed, the village itself is quite small and offers little in the way of entertainment. In October, when we visited, the last restaurant closed on the 7th.

Gavarnie will leave you speechless; it's a charming village surrounded by spectacularly beautiful mountains. You can't help but admire the surrounding landscape. You can enjoy snow sports, hiking, hot air ballooning, and even add cultural activities like visiting nearby Lourdes.

Chez Sanyou is situated a short walk from the centre of Gavarnie. Our room was large and comfortable, and the elevated position meant that we had lovely views of the Cirque. Breakfasts were simple but filling and tasty, and facilities were available to bring our own food in for other meals. The hosts were some of the kindest and most patient we've met, and Nina, the dog, was a delight.
