The hosts, Flo and Geff were just lovely and welcoming. The accommodation featured a sitting room, bedroom and large bathroom so there was plenty of room to spread out after many days on the road. Flo even did a load of washing for us! We also enjoyed interacting with their animals, including the dogs, donkeys and goats! This really was a lovely place to stay for a couple of days, and a great place from which to explore the Dordogne region as it was only 10 minutes from La Roque and Sarlat, and 5 minutes from Domme. PS, Flo also runs a creperie there, so we popped back in from lunch!

Clean, bright , modern hotel in an old building in an excellent location. Good breakfast available as well as a bar and a nice little sitting area. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. They offered alternative arrangements for visiting various interesting sites. Marina , in particular, went the extra mile to find a great, affordable driver to take us to the gardens and some small villages. This was a great way to see these places which would have been otherwise impossible to visit.

This is a new luxury property which makes a fabulous base for exploring the beautiful Dordogne/Lot region. Unforturnately, I was ill when we arrived and the next day needed a doctor's appointment. Jill, the manager, organised this (I am not a French speaker), arranged instructions to the local hospital and continually texted my wife during the day well into the evening after hours, to see how we were progressing. In the later evening, Aiden undertook a 20 km journey to collect my prescripion from the all night chemist, arriving back at the property at 12.30am. Over the next couple of days they helped my wife collect our car, took her shopping and did everything possible to help me recover. To say they went above and beyond is a significant understatement. I cannot thank them enough. When I eventually recovered enough to visit the pool I discovered a delightful spot for an afternoon dip and (I am guessing as I could not imbibe) an evening drink before dinner. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable (and I spent a lot of time in it so know well).

The staff were wonderful especially Eric who supervises everything and for whom nothing is too much trouble. It's convenient that there is a parking garage nearby and staff meet you on the main road to help with luggage and finding the garage. The rooms are charming, very good bed linen.

For the price this hotel is excellent, basic rooms but very clean with fan, hair dryer and dressing table. Fabulous views over the river and right in the centre. Good breakfast. Would definitely stay again. A meal at Au Chalet Gourmand just up the river is a must ***** plus a river trip and the gardens at Marqueyssac.

It's a small town on the banks of a large river, with the option of taking a boat trip on a traditional local vessel, and it's very well-equipped for tourism. The people are very friendly and helpful. It's truly a lovely place to visit.

A very pretty village with its troglodyte fort, traditional flat-bottomed boats, and various restaurants to suit all tastes. It's very relaxing to sit on a bench and watch the Dordogne River flow by with its canoes and flat-bottomed boats. Plenty of parking. We recommend O Soleil d'Or for the restaurant.

A beautiful village full of character, nestled on the banks...

A beautiful village full of character, nestled on the banks of the Dordogne River and clinging to the cliffside. An incredible exotic garden winds through the narrow streets, a lovely bamboo grove, excellent restaurants, and beautiful river views... best enjoyed on foot, climbing and descending. A bit of elevation gain, but well worth it ;-) The views are superb! The houses and alleyways are full of charm and retain their authenticity.

Beautiful grounds and building in the most perfect location. Stunning views from every window. Staff and owners were welcoming and kind, food was very good. We couldn’t ask for more and hope to visit with our family again one day. If you are going to La Roque-Gageac, you must stay here!
