It's an old house in the country, with a garden. We had two rooms (with a separate entrance), one very spacious, and a huge bathroom. The rooms are very cozy, with beautiful old furniture. The breakfast is lovely - the owners bake their own bread and make their own jams, and there were several kinds of cheese and yogurts besides.

We just spent a wonderful two days at Château de Monsac in the Dordogne. It’s a beautifully restored historic building that has been renovated sympathetically by the hosts, over decades. Everywhere you look, says “labour of love” and we were impressed with so many little details. Fabienne and Frédéric are warm and attentive hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Their service was intuitive and we appreciated their local knowledge and advice on exploring the Dordogne. We recommend having the breakfast which included fresh flaky pastries, homemade granola, jams and freshly squeezed orange juice. Our dog Maisy was made welcome and the Talbot room worked perfectly for us with its two outside terraces.

Lalinde is ideally situated for exploring into the Dordogne and up to Perigord region. Brantome is well worth a visit to the north. There are a couple of great restaurants, Le P'tit Loup and All'Olivo in particular. However, Sunday and Monday evenings it all closes up a bit so you need to be able to cater for yourself for food and drink. Lalinde is on the flat so easy to get around for those with any mobility issues.

Great atmosphere, very large grounds with lots of greenery (park-like). Fantastic view of the Dordogne from the breakfast area. Very friendly and attentive hosts who gave us many tips for the surrounding area. The walk to the town center takes about 8 minutes. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay.

The town is certainly lively (shops, market, restaurants), but a bit small to spend more than half a day there. However, it's well located for exploring some of the Périgord sites – although a bit far for the caves (1 hour 15 minutes from Lascaux, for example).

Lalinde is a pretty village on the banks of the Dordogne River. We enjoyed its charming little wooden bridge, beautifully adorned with flowers, and its wash house. The view overlooking the Dordogne is magnificent. Lalinde has all the necessary shops.

A charming little village at the edge of the Périgord...

A charming little village at the edge of the Périgord Pourpre region. The town center is pleasant, especially the square with its English-style country house (ideally, all cars should be banned from it). The banks of the Dordogne River feature the tourist office in a historic location. Keep up the good work and, above all, don't grant any more building permits in the surrounding area to preserve its beauty.

This was our favourite property on our recent tour around France. We had a large, characterful and comfortable room with views of the garden and swimming pool. The pool is large with lots of sun loungers, seats and parasols. We enjoyed the excellent breakfast on the roof terrace directly overlooking the River Dordogne. The hosts are welcoming and very helpful. The property is well-located overlooking the river and is just a 15 minute walk from the centre of Lalinde.

Christiane was the kindest, most welcoming host. She set out a lovely breakfast each day, including her homemade yoghurt. Christiane also recommended a wonderful restaurant in Lalinde for dinner and arranged our booking to make sure we got a table when it was busy.

The location was very convenient to explore both the more touristy areas of Dordogne and the towns of Perigieux and Bergerac. Lalinde is a lovely little town where you'd find everything you need for your stay. The accommodation itself was spacious and comfortable.
