The place is magical and very special.

The place is magical and very special. Enjoyed walking around the village and also on the grounds as well. The people there were very kind and welcoming. If staying on the island itself everything does close around 6-7pm and most of the tourists leave. This is a great time to go walking around taking photos and just enjoying the atmosphere. Most places don’t open the next morning til around 10-11am so don’t expect an early breakfast. Just an fyi, if you’re taking the train and the bussing system, you’ll have to walk across the bridge to the village on the other side. It took me 40 minutes(with luggage) to get to the bus stop. The Abbey itself is beautiful and it took me about 2 hrs to get through. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I look forward to returning one day with my family.

A must-see on the northern Normandy/ Brittany border.

A must-see on the northern Normandy/ Brittany border. Explore the twisty, narrow, steep streets. Step back in time with a visit to the abbey and enjoy delicious seafood- moules frites- overlooking the bay. Highly recommend

We arrived in late afternoon at hotel and toured island first in evening hours - great idea as less crowded and still light enough to wander the streets and alleys. Toured the abbey the next morning - around 11. Already getting crowded - should have started earlier. But well organized and flows well within the Abbey. Well worth the visit to see this unique and historic structure - magical.

A mesmerizing place that provides delights at every turn. This place is not recommended for people with mobility issues. Not only is it geared for people with the stamina to climb stairs and rather steep roads but the oppressive crowds make maneuvering, even for the able-bodied, difficult. Particularly avoid visiting in July and August, if you must gear your visit to the early morning or the evening when the tour bus crowds are away.

One of the most beautiful locations of the French seaside, matched with one of the most spectacular Castle/Abby I have ever encountered. I would place this even with Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. If you drive to the hotel, avoid the initial parking lot and call ahead to receive the code for your stay. You will be able to park much closer to your hotel room.

This hotel is very well situated so if you want to be close to the abbey it's a good choice, and the staff were super helpful The restaurant has a lovely terrace and is very family friendly. The room was clean and really quiet and very well situated, tucked away from the main thoroughfare. It is expensive, but you are paying to stay on the island which is truly a special experience. I think for a first time it was a good choice, very established place and easy to find, but I probably wouldn't stay there again.

The Hotel was VERY (!) close to Le Mont Saint Michel - you can see it if you just walk about 100 m from the hotel. Furthermore we loved the breakfast - this was really great! And one more thing: you can use the shuttle busses that go to Le Mont Saint Michel for free and the bus station is directly at the other side of the street.

Good hotel, very comfortable. The rooms are not big but the beds are nice. The location is very good in a special tranquil area near Mont St Michel. You can walk or use the free shuttle to go to the abbey which is 1.5 km away.
