The Gîte at the Auberge was a lovely place to rest at the end of a long drive and the peaceful calm of the place was much appreciated.  The apartment has everything one needs and the bed is large and very comfortable.  Outside, there's a pleasant spot to sit and relax watching the farm's sweet little ponies, but, for us, the great bonus was being able to bring our dog into the welcoming restaurant where we enjoyed a fine home-cooked meal and an excellent bottle of wine.  The surrounding area provides options for walking a dog or just stretching one's legs and LeShuttle at Calais is an easy 30 minute drive away.  A great place to stop and break your journey!

The is the ideal start and end to a trip to France.

The is the ideal start and end to a trip to France. No early morning crossings, just a convenient and less busy lunchtime or afternoon crossing, followed by a short drive to Le Wast, a warm welcome and a relaxing evening and superb dinner before setting off the next morning. The same on the way back with a relaxed crossing mid-morning to avoid the queues. All our European driving holidays start and end this way.

Beautiful and lovely pet friendly 'home' away from home even tho it was a hotel. We will most definitely stay again as it is only 20+/-minutes to the Chunnel crossing. A good mattress and a great shower are very important to me...this exceeded in both. Lovely grounds to walk the pooch.

If you are looking for a hotel convenient to the Calais...

If you are looking for a hotel convenient to the Calais terminals, this is a no brainer: why would you even look at Campanile, Formula 1, Brit Hotel when you could stay in a reasonably priced hotel located in a quiet village? The plus was the quality of the dinner. Better than a Hippopotamus and actually cheaper! My car was in complete security, which is not the case closer to Calais. This is a quiet village location, the drive to Eurotunnel check in took just 35 minutes. It is not Relais and Chateaux quality, but it is a good value for money hotel stop.

Excellent dinner - quality produce, cooked well and delicious. Very professional service and well looked after throughout the evening. Breakfast - continental, with quality breads, croissant and baguette. Faultless. I arrived early, but room was ready. Served drinks on the terrace. Really well looked after from the moment I set foot in the hotel till checkout.

A warm welcome from Nadege as always. We always enjoy a beer on the terrace on arrival and our clean and comfortable rooms were ready and waiting. Dinner was up to the usual exceptional standards and the breakfast is superb too. An absolute gem of a hotel and always our first and last night stop on a holiday to France.
