Exeptional staff, friendly and helpful particularly Annaise on reception and the bar who offered to take us to our appointments in her car on her days off. If you visiting this part if France, then it is likely that you have an interest in WWI ~ therefore I thoroughly recommend staying at “14-18 Somme Chambres”. It is an excellent location for WWI history and one of your hosts, Bart, is a living encyclopedia on the subject. I stayed with Bart and Karen at 14-18 Somme Chambres for one night and was welcomed like a long lost relative into their wonderful accommodation. I enjoyed a great breakfast and dinner with them and in the evening spent time with them and a couple of other guests out in the garden. Karen is a gem; she went above and beyond to help me break through a language barrier to sort out a logistical issue I had prior to my visit ~ I remain thankful for that. Indeed, make 14-18 Somme Chambres part of your Somme itinerary, you will not be disappointed.

Please arrange with Mireille to enjoy her delicious quiche, warm fresh milk from their dairy farm, tasty cheese plate and homemade jams with her fresh croissants for your breakfast. Also ask Mireille to show you her "treasures" from the 1914-1918 World War, as their farm was once a battlefield and they continue to find old ammunition even one century after the war ended. Mireille also has excellent directions, maps and other 1914-1918 World War resources available for her visitors. Visitors will enjoy visiting the family dairy operations and seeing all of the farm animals, cows, friendly dog, cat, rooster and chickens.
