Le Relais des Fontaines was perfectly located for an overnight stop on my long drive home to England from near Bergerac in my 58-year-old classic car. Sandrine and Thierry made me feel extremely welcome from the moment I arrived. My room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed, and there was also a large lounge, dining area and kitchen available to me. They were able to recommend a restaurant in the village for my evening meal and this was also very good indeed. Next morning an excellent breakfast was served. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone.

Photogenic, pretty old town with an interesting chateau with...

Photogenic, pretty old town with an interesting chateau with grounds and contents. The church has some interesting features. The exhibition of glass artworks in the old market hall is certainly worth seeing. Walking along the river banks provides good views and yet more photo opportunities. Mondays are best avoided as almost all the food outlets are closed (just one was open when we visited).

A charming little village with a bakery, a small supermarket...

A charming little village with a bakery, a small supermarket, and a castle. There's a pharmacy, a tourist office, and a few small restaurants (check opening hours). You can also fill up your tank at the supermarket. It's a lovely village to explore and stroll through, especially the route past the castle and along the water. It's also a great base for exploring other towns and villages.

The cleaning lady and breakfast attendant were super friendly... the owner didn't seem very comfortable welcoming guests... a shame... otherwise our rental was splendid... we had the entire floor of the castle to ourselves... we loved it. THANK YOU

The village is magnificent, very bucolic, everything we love...

The village is magnificent, very bucolic, everything we love. There aren't many places to eat, but we brought our cooler and there are spots on the property where you can sit and enjoy the view of the old mill, whose stonework is highlighted by beautiful rose bushes.

A lovely, peaceful little village with its castle, narrow...

A lovely, peaceful little village with its castle, narrow streets, and a pleasant walk along the banks of the Indrois River. Not to mention the "Solar Nights": a beautiful light show along the Indrois. We had dinner at the Moulin de Chaudé in Chemillé-sur-Indrois, just 5 minutes away.

Amazing Property so much history.Huge building with very large interesting rooms.We were given a booklet with information about the history of the Monastery. Jeff our host was very casual and relaxed .Showed us a lounge we could use and a kitchen area to make drinks etc. Breakfast was sufficient and a chance to buy honey from the Monastery,very tasty. Visit to Montrésor is a must, its so close to them.

The stay was exceptional! I shall say a dream come true. The chapel, the farm, the sunset and the room itself were all superb. I had the pleasure of staying at the Pastoral room which is exactly what I had wanted. I also had the best interactions with the hotel owner Jeff. Kind, warm-hearted and incredibly helpful. I can’t think of a better getaway in the Loire Valley region! I highly recommend.

loved this beautiful old mill which has been renovated very sympathetically and has kept its authenticity. it feels very homely, unlike soulless hotels. It is situated in a beautiful location in a lovely quiet village, which you access through beautiful tree lined roads.
