Perpignan is a lively place, cleaner and neater than some other southern French cities. The historical sites are not particularly thrilling, but it's pleasant to wander around the old town and there is always something going on - the annual festival of photojournalism while we were there. The beach resorts of Canet and Sainte-Marie are within easy reach.
Recommended excursions: Céret, Collioure (each a cheap 40-min bus ride away if you can figure out the eccentric timetable) + the Red Train along the Fenouillèdes valley west of Perpignan - with very knowledgeable guides! Details from Tourist Office

Like many visitors to the town, we were drawn to the town by the chance to watch the Catalans Dragons rugby league club play at Stade Gilbert Brutus. However, there is so much more that the town has to offer travellers.
The town centre is crammed with beautiful architecture, quirky shops, bars and cafes and lots of history. Meanwhile, for just a euro you can catch a forty minute bus down to the coast (we chose Collioure). A brilliant trip whether visiting with family or friends. We will definitely be back soon.

Historical castle with old town.
Historical castle with old town. Quiet provincial French town with an interesting looking medieval heart that is undergoing restoration.
We walked around Perpignan, well signposted. The locals are friendly and helpful. We ate at a restaurant close to the train station the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The Pizza place close to town was a bit more expensive but food was tasty and staff helpful. The dinner at The Steakhouse was food but quite expensive again the staff were helpful and friendly.

Lots to see and walking old winding streets. Free museums. No cycle hire in town. Buses cheap and readily available to go to beach nearest beach 20min on bus beautiful beach Canet Plage with good promenade
Not easy to find as hidden behind another building on a busy roundabout on ring road.
Great for overnight stay if you don’t want to visit the city BUT be aware of the lack of eating places around here!
Most of those listed on google maps are closed or only open lunchtimes ( it’s deserted in the evening)
The hotel is clean, modern and pleasant enough, good free car park outside, large comfortable room with small balcony, fridge, kettle, tv, air con, WiFi,etc. Pleasant grounds with swimming pool and sunbeds but needed cleaning.
The hotel rooms were spacious with a large comfortable bed and exceptionally clean, with lovely Nuxe amenities in the bathroom. Lavazza coffee with espresso machine. The pool and garden area is calm and peaceful with a good selection of garden seating. On site Nuxe Spa and a fantastic Gault et Millau restaurant serving amazing food and an excellent choice of wine. Our server Faisal was extremely professional and advised us on optional menu choices. Staff are so helpful.
The house was very beautiful, and had everything we needed including aircon. Plenty of space for our group size (8). We really enjoyed the pool. Perpignan as an area is brilliant, lovely town with historic buildings, cute cafes and shops, there's great beaches nearby, and you also have the mountains with lots of vineyards. Everything you need from a location! Would recommend hiring a car.
The location of this small hotel is excellent - it's very centrally located in the old town, with close proximity to lots of restaurants and bars. The hotel is located off the main road, which we found to be very quiet. Breakfast was good and more than ample for the small additional cost. All in all a great one-night stay. We loved Perpignan and a place we'll definitely re-visit.
The Dali Hotel was conveniently situated: within comfortable walking distance of the city centre and its restaurants and close to a bus stop for getting to the railway/bus station or to the coast. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable but small with an excellent bathroom. There was plenty of choice for breakfast.
The hotel is very close to the city centre. It is well located. The staff are very friendly and smiling.
The breakfast is very good. There's plenty of choice, and the staff go out of their way to make sure nothing is missing.
The icing on the cake is the play area for children (and adults), where you can relax for a while.
It's beautiful. The rooms are large and well appointed, though if you want a lot of drawer space, you'll be disappointed. The grounds are spectacular. And the host (Lionel) could not be nicer (or more handsome). Close to everything in Perpignan but in a vineyard and very quiet.
Eva was very good at reaching out to me on WhatsApp messenger prior to my stay. Overall I enjoyed my stay. There wasn't much open in terms of bars and restaurants in the city centre as it was a Monday night. I stopped over in Perpignan on an interrail trip.
The central location was perfect. Terrific folk that own and run the Hotel were just great!
Bed was super comfortable and the room was very clean!
Will be booking 2 more trips this year to Perpignan and will be booking again with the Hotel!
A cute home in Perpignan. The owner was a sweet, older man that was very helpful. The room and bathroom was clean and the small kitchen was also clean. I liked the garden in the back and enjoyed my breakfast there each morning.
The location is just great, and the decor of the place is pretty seventies retro. It has a lot of windows and so it was easy to air out. And it was France's national music night, so just fantastic.
The owners of the hotel were very attentive and super friendly. Breakfast food was home made and delicious. Even though the hotel is located on a main Street, it was quiet at night.
The hotel was very nice, bed was really comfortable. The reception young woman was friendly. Breakfast was good and complete.
A lot of space to park the car.
The pool was ok.
