Right in the middle of the town with lovely staff. Room had a beautiful view of the pond across the road and the bed was very comfy. Restaurant downstairs offered a range of Italian foods and was very nice with a great view of the castle/Chateau. One of those small towns where everything has funny opening times so its always best to check everywhere.

This is a beautiful not big villa in a beautiful quiet location. This is my best rental experience in France for 1.5 years. The house has everything, all amenities. Comfortable bed. Nice shower! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Not far from the beautiful castle, it is a wonderful walk. There are shops nearby. Not far there is a farm where you can buy chicken eggs. Every morning we saw deer near the house in the woods

We visited Pierrefonds because my daughters loved the show...

We visited Pierrefonds because my daughters loved the show Merlin, but found the castle to be so much more than just the set of a TV show. I had read blogs and watch videos about others visiting the castle which mentioned that the town was not much of anything, but we found in to be charming. We would have eaten dinner in the town the night before we visited the castle instead of just grabbing something on the way, but because of the negative feedback I didn't know about the nice looking restaurants on the banks of a small lake.

Pierrefonds is a very cool castle.

Pierrefonds is a very cool castle. We went because my daughter watched the show Merlin and wanted to see it but we all really enjoyed it. The town is also very charming and it worth spending some time in.

We came to see the castle where the Merlin series was filmed. Our one-night stay was sufficient for that purpose. But an extra night would have been nice, as there's much more to see in the village. We were told there's also a bike path to Compiègne.

5th largest forest in France, according to Wikipedia. The forest could be a bit bigger. You can get through it quite quickly. The cycling and hiking trails are well-maintained, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby.

Two nights in Pierrefonds is enough if you want to visit the...

Two nights in Pierrefonds is enough if you want to visit the magnificent castle. Unfortunately, it was partially covered in scaffolding, but despite that, it's the most beautiful castle I've ever seen. We had a delicious meal at Restaurant Castello. Excellent bread and tartellet limon at Pétrifontaine, the bakery next to the apartment. The rooftop terrace with a view of the castle is fantastic. Small but beautiful.

A beautiful château, restored in the 19th century by Viollet...

A beautiful château, restored in the 19th century by Viollet-le-Duc (Carcassonne, spire of Notre-Dame de Paris) for Emperor Napoleon III. Shops surround a lake. There are also charming villas, as Pierrefonds was a spa town in the 19th century. Nearby attractions include the Palace and Forest of Compiègne, the Château de Coucy-le-Château, and the château in Blérancourt, which celebrates Franco-American friendship.

We had a very comfortable stay in this modern apartment, spotlessly clean and well equipped with coffee, cleaning products, etc. It was an easy walk to the Chateau Pierrefonds, the lake and eateries. Take out pizza a few steps away. There is a gated parking lot for the building. Entry was easy using instructions sent by the host.

The camping is beautifully located on a field in a nice hilly and wooded surrounding not far from Pierrefonds. The biggest plus though was the hospitality of the owner who was very kind and even took me for a walk. The breakfast was wonderful too; delicious and wonderfully presented. All in all a perfect and memorable stay.
