A beautiful boutique hotel that has been fully restored by the owner with no expense spared. Everything was amazing from the rooms to the furnishings to the wonderful cuisine. I cannot recommend this hotel and their lovely staff enough, we will definitely return :)

I used to come to Salins a lot in the summer, as I had...

I used to come to Salins a lot in the summer, as I had family there and it was very lively. I had not been back for many years and this time was September and very different. We arrived on a Sunday and could not find a place to eat; the two restaurants opened were booked solid. A lot of shops seemed to have closed and the town is now very quiet. The Salines of course are spectacular and worth a visit and the setting quite beautiful if the weather is nice but little else is of interest.

A pleasant little town offering opportunities for lovely walks or mountain biking. The saltworks museum is worth a visit. The spa offers good treatments, but avoid it just because the relaxation area is too small. There are some good restaurants.

I really love this place where the thermal baths are located, which are truly lovely with their saltwater pool, plus all the walks around where you find yourself in the pastures, a rejuvenating stay, the view of Mont Poupet is breathtaking...

It's a shame the weather was too hot, so we weren't able to explore the area around Salins-les-Bains more. That's why I said our stay was longer than expected. If it had been cooler, the 9-day stay would have been perfect.

A city that may have once had a glorious past. But that's well and truly over. It's impossible to get dinner in a restaurant. They're either closed, or they turn you away because they're full without even telling you if there's a second seating.

We arrived at the worst possible time of year.

We arrived at the worst possible time of year. The spas, museums, many restaurants, and other places were closed. We visited the saltworks on the last day of the season: fascinating and a very good guidebook.

The studio was on the second floor in a former hotel. Very nice, well-ventillated, well-lit and comfortable. The view of the mountain above rooftops was nice. Corina was very helpful responding immediately when asked. We were an easy walk from the shops, bakery, wine shop etc We enjoyed staying here and would not hesitate coming again.
