Location was ideal and a great place to stay for a break in our journey between Caen and the Dordogne. Our room was perfect and the meal we had in the restaurant was fabulous - great selection, good quality and reasonably priced. We will definitely be staying here again.

It was quite a big house (for a family of 4. Automatic blinders. Fridge, Coffee maker (Philips Sense), a lot of kitchen tools etc. TV (was broken in a corner/the display). WiFi with internet. The parking meant you can park in front of the property for free, but public parking (not private). The rooms were spacious (one with bunk beds for the kids and one with large bed. No mosquitos(we slept with the windows open). Has a small courtyard with a table and some chairs. If you come by care plan to use it to go to the city center (in august a 25-30 min walk in the sun is impossible). Some nearby fast foods but all closed between 13:00 and 18:00 so be prepared. Overall we felt safe, and for a one night sleep while traveling it was ok.A lot of small kids toys and devices (i think the owner had a family with small kids, and once they grew they left for another location and left all these for the guests:).=> could be suitable for a family with really small kids/babies!

One of the best equipped self catering places we have stayed in. Characterful, clean and comfortable. Lovely location,easy walk to pretty village centre. Quite central to drive to chateaux, zoo and other places.

It is a pretty village, full of history.

It is a pretty village, full of history. The Chateau is interesting. It has an added extra of a Dinosaur park added on, lots of models. Perhaps a bit run down but fun! On the outskirts of the village there are supermarkets. In the village you can find a range of patisserie, bakery, cheese shop, butcher/deli, pharmacy and so on. There are a few bar tabacs and some restaurants. It is a quiet place, peaceful, and nothing stays open very late! Not the place for clubbing! It is in a good location to get to other surrounding places such as the zoo, vineyards and chateau such as Chenonceux.

We stayed here for 14 days, which was definitely not too long if you plan to visit some castles. The town itself is ideal, with several restaurants, a butcher, bakery, cheese shop, and a supermarket nearby.

This establishment offers poor value for money.

This establishment offers poor value for money. The bin was full of previous guests' rubbish, the breakfast was bad, and there were no towels for the toilet sink. The hostess was friendly, however.

Selles-sur-Cher isn't the main focus of our stay.

Selles-sur-Cher isn't the main focus of our stay. We rented this accommodation primarily to visit the Chaumont-sur-Loire Garden Festival. It's mainly a great base for exploring major tourist attractions within a 50km radius, as well as enjoying nature walks.

A magnificent castle to visit (closes at 5 pm), an authentic Chinese restaurant with excellent cuisine, an abbey church also worth visiting, and finally, a lovely walk along a footpath by the Cher River.
