FAQs about hotels in Strasbourg

Crossroads of European Culture

Situated on the banks of the River Rhine, Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region of France. The medieval city centre, Grande Île, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and houses the glorious sandstone Strasbourg Cathedral and picturesque timber-framed buildings.

The Cathedral of Our Lady is the tallest medieval building in Europe and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture. It features a remarkable façade, one of the largest astronomical clocks in the world, stunning stained glass windows, and a terrace with panoramic city views.

Enjoy a pleasant walk in the medieval streets of the old town, or visit the charming Petite-France district. Here are some of the range of Strasbourg restaurants serving Alsatian specialities like beef and pork stew with potatoes and carrots, accompanied by local beer and regional white wine.

At the crossroads of European culture, cosmopolitan Strasbourg is home to numerous international organisations including the European Parliament, as well as one of the oldest European universities.

Strasbourg International Airport is easily reached from other international airports, so book your hotel, apartment or bed and breakfast through Booking.com and experience an unforgettable stay.

Christmas time in Strasbourg is like entering a fairy tail . The atmosphere is amazing , the police has made it safe for travellers to scroll throughout the city and the Xmas markets. A short visit to nearby Colmar is a must!

Beautiful city full of interesting historical buildings.

Beautiful city full of interesting historical buildings. It is so easy to walk everywhere. The public transport system was also very good. Lots of excellent restaurants and cafés. The boat trip around the canals (Batorama) was very informative and a great way to see the city.

We came for the Christmas markets and decorations which were wonderful. We would recommend the boat trip and land train, also the art galleries and the cathedral which is spectacular. We walked everywhere. We came by train.

We visited Strasbourg for Sinterklaas and the early Christmas market, and the whole city was beautifully decorated with lights, teddy bears, and festive decorations. The vibe was magical and made the trip unforgettable.

Strasbourg is adorable and we loved the Christmas markets.

Strasbourg is adorable and we loved the Christmas markets. We used it as a home base for 4 days and traveled to Stuttgart & Karlsruhe. 2 days in Strasbourg is enough time to see everything and 1 extra day to travel to Colmar or other villages close by.

Walking around the city and continually discovering side...

Walking around the city and continually discovering side streets and architecture or another canal and bridge to cross. Make sure you take a good walking map. Take a ride on the mini train as it takes you to places you might not have time to see. Good walking shoes (lots of lovely cobbold streets!). Many restaurants - roughly similar pricing and food was never disappointing! The art and historical museum worth a visit. If yu ARE going to climb the 330 steps in the cathdral - make sure you are reasonably fit as it is VERY very tiring both for the lungs and legs! I wouldn't advise taking small children (a 'nightmare' comes to mind) AND once you are going up you cannot turn round! Check the 10 best things to see in the city - lots of info on line. Have fun

The hotel is situated very close to Strasbourg in a residential area, very near the motorway and ideal if travelling by car. The tram is just a five minute walk away and for €2.10 you can travel to the centre of Strasbourg or to the European Parliament. We also walked along the river which takes about 20 minutes to Petit France. Breakfast was excellent. I've never stayed at a hotel where such quality products were offered and replenished.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, offering advice ensuring our stay in Strasbourg was enjoyable. The hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from the railway station and 15 minutes from the very centre of town. The rooms were quite spacious, very clean and we thought that this hotel was very good value for money. We would definitely use this hotel again based on our experience.
