This is by the far the best hotel I have stayed in. It is pity that I had to stay only for a night, but we have planned already for a vacation here in next winter. We wanted a convenient stop mid way between two places so chose Blue Boar because of the great reviews. The large, super clean room, terrific breakfast and lovely staff made our stay beyond expectations and dinner in restaurant was tasty with a good variety on the menu. Parking was also easy. We will definitely stay here again.

A quaint and friendly village with wonderful walks in the nature reserve along the river. Shopping facilities were great although most shops were small but had a great variety. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower was OK. The check in and out was easy, staff very friendly and helpful. I had an evening meal and breakfast in the pub restaurant, reasonably priced and food good. Altho the pub was noisy and lively the noise didn't travel to the bedroom areas. I didn't see much of the area as it was just an overnight stay but I would go back again. Yes the furbishing's were a little dated, but the staff were lovely, the place was clean and comfortable, and the food good which is the way I prefer it.

It is a perfect location for getting to Stratford Upon Avon.

It is a perfect location for getting to Stratford Upon Avon. Do not miss Bidford Upon Avon which is a short drive from Alcester and boasts 'The Big Meadow', which is excellent for dog walks and has great recreational area for children. Nice local Village tea room as well.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a lovely ambience with a place to sit both before and after the meal. I was disappointed to find no information in the room relating to wifi or breakfast times. Consequently we were late for breakfast but we were still served. There was a music duo playing which apparently happens once a fortnight on a Friday. I would definitely reccomend this place.

Its not the ritz, its a fabulous fun hotel for normal folk wanting great value and great food. The staff care, they help, they want you to be happy. Great hotel/pub/restaurant/party venue, give it a go.

We loved Nikki, the host. She was warm and very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble for her. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Everything you need for a pleasant stay has been carefully thought about. The location was brilliant for a walk into the beautiful little town of Alcester or a short drive into Stratford upon Avon. Peaceful and quiet with free parking on Nikkis Driveway. The property is off the road, so there is no traffic noise either. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

The check-in was perfect for a late night arrival after settling my Mother into a hospital and having no control over the time. The room was very clean and also cool, thanks to a standing fan. The bed was really comfortable and with cool cotton sheets. Breakfast was really nice... I had yoghurt with alpen and fruit, and then a small lighter hot plate breakfast. The sausage and scrambled was particularly delicious. Service was very friendly. No hesitation recommending this hotel.

Excellent host - Stephen really added to our stay. Restaurant was excellent with a great dinner menu and great breakfast. Hotel was clean and very quiet, nice spacious room. While there is nothing within walking distance of the inn, it's within close driving distance of many attractions.
