Everything was great! Beautiful location, decor, attention to detail and service (Mrs Rachel was wonderful!). Very tasty and varied breakfast and menu options. Very large selection of teas, milk etc. in the room. Will definitely revisit for the next hike :)

Such a wonderful place for a short trip stay. I'm very impressed with all the good facilities; the attention to all the detail was remarkable！We arrived early than check in time, but they just let us in really fast. It was the cutest room I ever stayed in! It was very warm all the time! Really really clean room with super comfortable bed! And they serve really nice breakfast! Definitely 100 out of 10 Highly highly highly recommend!

there is a very nice coffee shop called the Singing kettle...

there is a very nice coffee shop called the Singing kettle with delicious cakes. And we had supper at the George and Dragon which was very good both food and ambience. We were walking the South Downs way towards Eastbourne. I was disappointed with Alfriston generally. A couple of second rate antique type shops and an uninspiring deli. Alfriston had been billed as a jewel which it most definitely wasnt in my humble opinion. Not worth a detour.

Unfortunately because of the times of year (December) most...

Unfortunately because of the times of year (December) most places in and around Alfriston were closed. However this did not detract from this peaceful, pretty and historic village. I would definitely go again, earlier in the year when places are open We ate at the place we stayed ‘The Olde Smugglers Inne’ but they only serve excellent food in the evenings. It is fairly flat and easy to walk around the village.

We stayed a couple of nights with our dog to walk over to the Seven Sisters Cliffs and visit Rathfinny Wine Estate. The room was really comfortable with some lovely welcoming touches. Very clean, great shower perfectly sized for what we needed. The location was fabulous. Step out of the door and straight onto a footpath to Litlington to find the long man brewery and cadence cafe. Then onto a walk down the river to the South Downs. Alfriston village had great pub restaurants for eating out.

The hotel gardens looked stunning and the interior design was tasteful. We had a wonderful night’s sleep on a very comfortable bed. The road by the hotel can be busy at certain moments, but it was still quiet and a relaxing place to be. The view of the church across the green is lovely. Dinner and breakfast offered many choices. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely accomodation and pub in the centre of Alfriston, near Lewes in East Sussex. Excellent food for reasonnable prices. Charge free parking available in walking distance. Very friendly hostess and staff.

Location. Alfriston is a lovely village. The George Inn is located right on the South Downs Way.. Breakfast was delicious and fulfilling, perfect for our last days walk to Eastbourne.
