I took a fishing rod and on the first night had bbq mackerel...

I took a fishing rod and on the first night had bbq mackerel on the banks of Loch lomand as its very close. The hills are walking distance from the hotel so on the second day we walked up Ben ime. The views are spectacular if you have not been to the west of Scotland you willl be impressed and the location is so close to Glasgow, difficult to believe a large city is so close.

Amazing part of the country with wonderful scenery.

Amazing part of the country with wonderful scenery. Most staff are extremely pleasant and friendly, but not all. Arrochar is a bit of a one horse town, although it's a great base for touring some amazing parts of the country. It's a very relaxing village with a lovely walk along the lochside.

Beautiful quiet location, stunning scenery. The Village Inn was great. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Restaurant had good menu choices both for dinner and breakfast. We'd booked this for our last night in Scotland before our return flight, would have loved to stay longer.

Weather not great second day but didn’t spoil our break . Took a very scenic drive up the “Rest and Be Thankful “ via Loch Fyne oyster bar and garden centre to Inveraray . Dogs loved the walk through the grounds up to the castle . Lovely places for lunch in the town .The George Hotel a favourite of ours .

Everything was top notch. Staff were very good, nice and helpful. The bedroom was beautiful and the bed very comfy. Food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. The surrounding area was beautiful and our room had a loch view. The whole Inn had a lovely welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

The hotel staff were rude and unhelpful and to beat it all the cleaning staff stole my bag with all of my liquids including perfumes and lotions and when I told the reception they could not have cared less

A marvelous view of the Loch Long through the bow-window of our bedroom ! As our room was facing the loch, it was quiet although the A83 road is in front of the hotel. The hotel is also located near Loch Lomond around which there are many activities to choose from. We arrived around 8pm, too late to taste the adjacent pub’s meals but fortunately got something from a walking distance nearby restaurant. So our advice would be to arrive not too late if you want to dine at the pub , and book a room with a loch view.

On a cold winter's night, with a biting wind howling round the the eaves of the old hotel; a warm cozy room in a small Scottish village, just a short distance from Loch Lomond and overlooking Loch Long, is an ideal spot to rest up after a long trip. Most important is the dog friendly atmosphere. No dog, no visit. After several stays, I haven't met all the staff but those I have are friendly and welcoming. Good value for money.

From the moment we arrived and were met by Jackie we felt welcomed and comfortable.. She was absolutly fabulous as was Ian her boss. They could not have been more professional yet super friendly.All the staff were lovely and very willing to share info on where to visit and what was available at the hotel. We were very happy with the restaurant and the varied menu.The fact Ian remembered our previous days preferences was impressive .

The hotel was lovely typical country pub hotel with a view of Loch Long - beautiful setting. It was very cosy lovely and warm . The food was delicious and very reasonable rate for breakfast . Very clean and lovely staff that were very attentive .
