We loved this cottage, it had all the necessary amenities and it was really well presented. The cottage was immaculate, it was in an optimal location that allowed us to explore the local town and the surrounding areas. The host was always available to answer any enquiries and questions. Ashbourne is a great location for visting the lower peak district. With other towns within a 30 minute drive, you can see quite a lot in a short space of time. Plenty of working located in the local area. The only downside this time was that they digging up the center of Ashbourne and this makes accessibility to the shops etc slightly more un sightly but will look amazing when finished.

Stayed here 4 nights lovely place to stay took our dog with us too. All staff made us very welcome fantastic breakfast and evening meals plenty of choice. Comfortable bed lovely room beautiful scenery all round a perfect place to stay will definitely go back again soon.

Ashbourne’s a lovely town.

Ashbourne’s a lovely town. I stayed at The George and Dragon in the Market Square which is a great location, in the middle of town with good shops, pubs and eateries nearby. There are major works going on all around town at the mo (Sept 2025) due to end at the end of October which will make it even better. There’s also a lovely Memorial Park just a few minutes from the centre, well worth a visit. I was here on my own for a local race but will certainly return with my wife, I know she’ll love it here.

It's a nice Market Town - currently undergoing a major Town...

It's a nice Market Town - currently undergoing a major Town Centre renewal, so it should be very nice when it's finished in a few months (the renewal didn't distract from our stay). It is very well placed, short drives to some iconic Peak District walks

Enjoyed our stay! We had a lovely meal at the old dog pub food and service was excellent. Attended a wedding at Tissington hall and enjoyed breakfast at Herbert’s fine English tea rooms. Also popped into Bakewell!

Ashbourne is very quiet because most of the houses are...

Ashbourne is very quiet because most of the houses are second homes. Lost a lot of locals, doctor, post office and shop. . The pub food wasn’t brilliant so had to go further afield. Very pretty village where locals can’t afford houses Seems to be a problem in all rural areas .

Everything was fantastic, great accommodation and friendly staff who are easily available should you need anything. Fantastic location just 1 minute walk from Ashbourne Park and the incredibly beautiful town centre. Easy access to Matlock and surrounding areas of Derbyshire.

Perfect location for Tissington, Ashbourne and the Tissington Trail. Lovely site, I wish we'd known about it when the children were younger as it would make a fabulous base for a family holiday in the Peak District.
