Host and staff all very helpful and accommodating during our stay. The family room was very clean, lovely decor, cozy beds and bathroom all good..all made the more welcoming by the homemade cookies in the room. We had dinner and breakfast at the Inn, all of which was first class (product and cooking), against the tranquil setting of the open fire. Overall , fully recommend a weekend away or overnight stay (as we did) in the Compasses Inn , all the comfort, quality and warmth one requires when looking for a relaxing stay.

The accommodation was in an superb location just opposite to the cathedral. The lady who received me was a wonderful person and was very friendly and helpful. The room facilities were basic but clean and comfortable. I was very impressed by the food quality of breakfast which was included in the room rate. There was not a huge variety of food but everything you needed were there and the food quality was excellent.

This Inn is very historically old which was fantastic!!! It is small and intimate, the staff welcoming and friendly. Our room was well appointed, large with excellent bedding. Unknown to us the restaurant is known for its food, wine selection and service and although they were fully booked on a Saturday night they accommodated us as we were guests of the Inn. Excellent South African meal!!

Stunning architecture and beautiful setting. It was so interesting watching the River Avon flow under the hotel and out at the front of the hotel. Just a 15 minute amble to Salisbury City with views of the Cathedral from the hotel and on the walk into town. Lovely staff on reception, the bar and restaurant. Extensive choice at breakfast. We had two rooms - a double for us and a large single for our adult son. Both rooms were very comfortable and well furnished.
