I loved it. I wish we could have stayed longer. It was a short stay overnight as we were travelling onwards the next day. The house was beautiful, new, modern and tastefully decorated. Quiet. Good facilities including a spa and swimming pool which we didn’t get a chance to use. It looked like ex estate workers houses. Very near the coast. But only a mile to the main road North/South. So nice. Excellent standard throughout. Spacious. Warm and comfortable.

Lovely quiet village location with well stocked Co-op in walking distance. Pretty church, open to look around and spend a peaceful few moments of reflection. Unfortunately not particularly impressed by local pubs, but being so close to Bamburgh, we enjoyed nice meals and hospitality there.

We visited the Museum, the church and the community charity shop in Belford, and also bought a few bits and pieces from the Co-op. It's a great centre for a few days exploring east Northumberland. We came primarily for Ad Gefrin museum in Wooler, but also managed to visit Holy Isle, St Cuthbert's Cave and Roucin Linn and Stones, did a spot of bird watching at Budle bay, and and squeezed in a fish-and chip supper in Seahouses. Not bad for 2 nights in Belford!

Belford is a very quiet village.

Belford is a very quiet village. Hasn't really anything to do apart from drink in a pub or cafe. There are no shops to speak of locally apart from a charity shop and post office. But it's a good base to explore the area. The pubs and cafe are good places to eat. We ate at the Blue Bell. I wouldn't stay at the Blue Bell again unless it had some money spent on the rooms

There was a village store in the centre and easy access to local beaches by car. Five well-known castles are also accessible by car all within half an hour - Alnwick, Warkworth, Chillingham, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Boat trips to see the seals and puffins are from Seahouses which is about 8 miles away.

We only went once to Belford itself, to pick up a parcel at the Co-op. we stayed in Lucker, a quiet village about 3 miles from the coast at Bamburgh. Lovely scenery both on the coast and inland, though you do need a car. We had a meal out at the Apple Inn in Lucker, and days out to Bamburgh and the coast, Berwick, Lindisfarne and Cragside.

The hotel/room was well insulated against sound - to say it is on the A1 services we didn't hear a thing! Comfortable beds, free wifi, and friendly staff. After a quick phone call they were able to accommodate an earlier check in - we had a wedding to attend. And 24 hour reception/ own key so coming back later after the reception was not a problem. If we ever need to be that way again I would definitely come to Purdy Lodge. it looks like there is a lot to do nearby too from the leaflet in the room.

Location and price for a single overnight stay. Centre of Belford, a few steps away from the church where we were attending a wedding. The hotel staff were helpful in arranging for us to access our rooms early so we could freshen up and change clothes. The staff were generally friendly and most helpful. The hotel is an old coaching Inn and, although the rooms are clean, there are in need of some tlc and updating. Breakfast was more than adequate.

The Northumberland location. The friendly welcome on arrival and obliging staff at meal times. The food, both quality and choice (evening and breakfast). The size of the bedrooms and en suite. The welcoming treats in the room each day. The availability of refrigerated fresh milk to take to the room for hot drinks. The space in the dining room. The quiet location.
