FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular stag and hen do destination, Blackpool offers accommodation ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

Something for everyone of all ages.

Something for everyone of all ages. Good transport , trains and tram and great beaches. Sea front is long, well kept and scenic. Many restaurants and facilities are well presented and staffed by friendly accommodating staff. Unfortunately and the reason for losing a star is that many streets in the town are run down and need some investment. The piers similarly especially North Pier. Winter gardens and theatre are ok but shuts down after a performance and the theatre is cramped and uncomfortable.

Unfortunately Blackpool is quite run down.

Unfortunately Blackpool is quite run down. The things that are open are fine, but so much of the place is closed down and very tatty. Such a shame, if only they could clean it all up and mend all the tattiness. Although the staff that we came across during our stay, wherever we went, were so friendly and helpful. The place does need millions spending on it.

Now having stayed in many cheap b&bs and hotels in Blackpool i know what to expect. This Hotel exceeded my expectations and was certainly the best one ive ever stayed at. It was in a great location for the pleasure beach, it was SPOTLESSLY clean. Had great facilities (washing machine dryer microwave and fridge etc in guest services room), breakfast was great. The staff couldn't do enough, very friendly and welcoming. Would 100% recommend and definitely be back in the future.

These guys are brilliant for a stay in Blackpool. 4 of us stayed end of Jan for an event North Pier way. Fiver in a taxi to reach from Hotel (My Fault for not checking distance before booking). But don't take this away from the Hotel. Perfect hosts, Friendly, Clean and Tidy rooms. Early check in Honestly couldn't ask for more and when we inevitably return I will be booking in with the guys again. Price cheap as the Blackpool chips aswell Thanks Joe

The Highbury is the best ‘cheap cheap’ Blackpool hotel we have stayed at so far. £20 on a Saturday night is phenomenally good; including a basic cereal breakfast. Definitely going to aim for this place again if it’s available.
