FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favored vaction spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognizable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modeled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular bachelor and bachelorette destination, Blackpool has accommodations ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

Blackpool has vastly improved since my last visit, the improvement is incredible. It is a very expensive trip to have, but worth the effort when your family enjoyed themselves as mine did. So work out what you want to do and go and enjoy it.

We went to see the illuminations and were very disappointed, no decorated trams apparently they were not working due to maintenance issues , bit of a lame excuse. The regular trams were severely overcrowded and on one evening just stopped running altogether stranding us down by the pleasure beach at the wrong end of town. As for the information displays, well they don't exist this is 2025 where are the real time displays for the bus and tram stops, come on Blackpool Transport WAKE UP you can and should do a lot better. We didn't bother with the pleasure beach as it would have cost over £300 to get 4 non riding adults , 2 riding adults and 4 nickelodeon passes for the youngsters , the zoo was worth a visit but still expensive over £200 for tickets (2 family tickets and 2 concession) A pre booked family ticket at the swim centre was also £100 To be honest we left the town after three days feeling we had been mugged on every street corner , Back to an all inclusive in Spain next year

Blackpool never changes from year to year so its easy to know what to see and do and where to go. The trams and buses run regularly but at the height of the season they are usually packed and a lot of people end up standing, not good if you are elderly or pregnant or unwell. There are daily bus tickets for sale which are valid for 24 hours from time of purchase and can be used for buses and trams. There is lots to do in the town, both in the day time and in the evenings but just a short bus ride away is Clevellys and Lytham St Anns. These places are quieter than the hustle and bustle of Blackpool but offer much for you to do. There is Stanley Park which I think is hugely under rated as it is great for a lovely walk and a bit of quiet time. Blackpool offers something for everyone of any age and it will keep on doing so for years to come.

Lovely 2 bed apartment (sleeps 6 - 8) with large bathroom and kitchenette on the ground floor of seafront hotel. Well kept with good facilities. Lovely people running it, easy check-in, and parking out the front. Very convenient for Pleasure Beach and about 20mins walk to the Tower and central Blackpool.

Lovely hotel, beautiful room, outstanding staff, and excellent food. Easily the best of the many hotels/B&B I've ever used in Blackpool. Location was a bonus, close to the seafront and tram stop.
