Although Blockley is quite hilly, which is worth bearing in mind if you have any medical issues, the centre is lovely - with a beautiful old church (which is used as a filming location for Father Brown) and two pubs. We had some wonderful meals in The Crown, which offers some traditional English dishes and a Sri Lankan menu, all with a smile. If you have a car, many of the most renowned Cotswolds villages (Stowe, Burford, Burton-on-the-Water, Moreton-In-Marsh, etc, are within a short drive, so Blockley is very well-appointed as a base from which to explore the area.

This village is very close to the gems of Stow-on the-wild and Bourbon on the Water. Also quick access to Moreton-in-Marsh for proper grocery shops. It’s my second time in Blockley. It has two restaurants that you can easily walk to (albeit with some slopes), and has a pizza truck that baked among the best pizzas we’ve ever had.

A lovely village in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds with lots of lovely places to visit. Friends staying nearby did a lot of walking. We went to Sezincote and Bourton House, which we really enjoyed. We were at a family dinner in St George’s Hall, so didn’t eat out. There was a restaurant/cafe just beside us, which friends said was good. The village shop was well stocked, and got food there for our first night. . A lovely 2 nights in a special village

Blockley is a lovely village.

Blockley is a lovely village. It is a great base to explore that part of the Cotswolds. The village shop has everything and next door the cafe serves delicious food all day. We saw some filming of Father Brown and explored the pubs and church. There is a lot of history with the old Mills too.

We used Blockley as a base in the Cotswolds.

We used Blockley as a base in the Cotswolds. However, the town looks flat on the TV series Fr Brown and much bigger. It was nice seeing the church where the series was filmed but it is a village and smaller than the other towns around with very narrow roads. I would have stayed in a larger town now knowing the narrowness of the roads in the village. Besides eating at our hotel, we ate at the Great Western Arms Pub which was good but however closed on 2 of the days we were in Blockley, I think a lot of people choose this town as it is on the path for hiking through the area.

Blockley is a lovely village in the Cotswolds.

Blockley is a lovely village in the Cotswolds. We stayed at The Crown hotel which served excellent food/breakfasts. We enjoyed the Friday night curry buffet, which gave us a great opportunity to try lots of different foods. There is a lovely cafe in the village and a well stocked shop. We were lucky to have lovely weather which always helps. We enjoyed visits to Batsford Arboretum, which was a very short drive away (I think you could walk if you were feeling energetic) along with a wander around Broadway and a trip to Snowshill Manor (NT).

The old Coach House is located in a beautiful picturesque English village - a lovely heritage property looking across to the Church, all facilities wonderful with a large comfy large bed and beautifully furnished accommodation. We ate one night at the local Blockley pub - 500 m up the road which was ok. We were also next door to a well stocked community cooperative which allows for options to cook in the Coach House. Quintessential English country living at its best.

Great getaway, fantastic value. The hosts were very prompt to respond. A quaint cottage- we woke up to a lovely view of the neighbouring farm sheep grazing. Good location with the High St area being less than 15 mins drive away and surrounded by a handful of local pubs (short walk away). Would recommend the local Blockley Cafe for a brunch while you’re here!

Lovely hotel with very kind and helpful staff. They accepted us even with a last minute booking. It's an old and charming building with a well preserved character. Very good location in the middle of the Cotswolds with so many great things to see close by.

We have stayed in Blockley previously and have always enjoyed the facilities provided by the village. The pubs and shops are always welcoming and provide everything you need. The Crown has an excellent Friday curry night.
