The Highland getaway was amazing..very much 5 star.. had things we didn't think we needed! The attention to detail was above and beyond. Even dressing gowns and slippers. Beds were super comfy. Shower was powerfully and hot. And cooking facility was spot on. The kids loved the freedom of the park with forest walks across the road. And steam train within 5 mins walk.. no WiFi was not a problem for us. But there was no connection.

Boat of Garten is a small village which has some good features and services, including a pub, a village store, pizza shop, art gallery and historic railway station. It is well located in relation to forest walks and other outdoor activities. For any significant shopping you needs to travel nearby Aviemore, 4.5 miles away. We preferred the peace and quiet of Boat of Garten for our stay in the area.

We stayed at the caravan on a self catering basis The caravan was very well equipped with all the necessary items needed for a short stay break The site was nice and quiet and situated within easy reach of the towns amenities and lovely rural walks Our break at Boat of Garten was only a few days long so we did not get much time to explore more of thd beautiful countryside

Lovely little village, idyllic scenery.

Lovely little village, idyllic scenery. Great location for nearby attractions and not as busy and touristy as nearby Aviemore. Next time I visit I will definitely consider again and stay a little longer to explore.

Boat of Garten is just a small village in the Scottish...

Boat of Garten is just a small village in the Scottish Highlands there is a nice little restaurant 50yds away which serves excellent meals and a carry out fresh made Pizza facility, there is also a nice hotel about 400m away which serves excellent meals, well situated for the Osprey viewing observatory, close to Landmark adventure park, and not far from Aviemore highland resort.

A roomy house with great view. All mod cons that are easy to use and there is a folder with instructions on the table if you're stuck. The downstairs bedroom is en suite and situated on the ground floor. There is an outdoor decking and table for sitting and enjoying the sights. Quite easy to find the house and Boat of Garten is less than a mile away where you can board the steam train if you wish, also the Post Office there has a great selection of groceries and drink.

My room was comfortable, clean and well equipped with tea/coffee/hot chocolate.. biscuits etc. Lovely large ensuite with great shower and loads of warm water. Lovely quiet setting in peaceful village. Great for the nearby loch and rspb centre. Loads of well marked walks. Has a fantastic little Italian restaurant less than 2 mins walk. And 5 mina from the Strathspey Steam Railway station.

We very much recommend this hotel - it was the perfect Christmas stay. The staff were all very lovely and helpful, the atmosphere was very special, they did an incredible job creating a very special place to spend Xmas. You can see the care that goes into every aspect of their business, and we'll definitely revisit. The nearby loch and animal park are highlights.

Lovely atmosphere, really friendly welcome and lots of tips for our onward journey. Email received in advance with restaurant tips which we used to book Andersons seafood platter and had a great evening. Tea coffee and fridge and delicious banana cake on arrival! Breakfast great, lots of lovely fresh fruit, cooked breakfast etc.
