What was there not to like about this stunning place. I had booked this last minute at a spectacular price. Keys were easy to collect, opened the door and was greeted by the cleanest place i have stayed. the bedrooms, space available, kitchen and bathroom where stunning in appearance. Bed was very comfy and the living room sofa was lovely also. Now the bathroom, after a long 8.5 hour drive, there was a beautiful bathtub to soak your sorrows away. A beautiful shower area, and if the thoughts became to much :D you had a TV in the wall to keep yourself distracted. And most importantly, the Sauna... this was just the tip of the iceberg for me. Stunning and would stay again for sure.

The hotel was filled with interesting and quirky things and had a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were lovely. The food was delicious, and there were a variety of beautiful areas to dine. My mother and I enjoyed a traditional high tea. Outdoor areas to relax with a drink under a tree or afternoon tea on the balcony. They had an interesting lift to take your luggage up. Our twin room was spacious and clean. A.short walk to the sea. Lovely experience. Highly recommended.

We were in the Outlook apartment with the most amazing views. Absolutely stunning place to gaze out over the sea and cliff and watch the surfers play. The check in team were super helpful and friendly and the restaurant staff were excellent.

The property was very lovely with beautiful gardens. I’d always wondered about the buildings at the end of the long driveways and now I know. I can imagine what it must have been like 100 years ago. Our rooms were comfortable and there was a very nice bar with a fireplace.

We liked the new TV and WiFi.

We liked the new TV and WiFi. The bed was also new and comfortable. The lounge was also comfortable once it warmed up. On arrival we found the old bed leaning up against the lounge wall. Also a very large headboard blocking the entrance to each bedroom. The old TV was left in the lounge. The house was cold and smelled of damp. The bathroom didn't warm up enough in the two weeks that were there in order to shower comfortably. The oven was very old. There was no work surfaces in the kitchen. The American style fridge freezer had food left in it from previous guests. It was also situated in a room with no lights. The light switches were incorrectly wired. When the light was switched on in the dining room the light in the lounge went out. The handle came off the bedroom door. We have taken photos and the last email address that you sent did not work. Where should we send them? We feel that a refund is required and that booking.com inspect the property.

Very well equipped house with loads of room.

Very well equipped house with loads of room. Hosts were very thoughtful and easy to contact if we needed to (we didn’t). Good place to use as a base to explore North Yorkshire, I would recommend it! Fish and chip shop nearby was also very good. There are some very steep stairs but double hand rail. Parking was easy round the back of the house but we had to carry a car full round to the front as no access in very heavy rain.

Loved the peace and quiet.

Loved the peace and quiet. Our overall experience was excellent. Rooms were uncluttered and minimalistic loved it. Bed was comfy and big. It was central to place you could visit. Stairs were steep but managed.
