The sat nav, when very near to our destination took is down what was hardly a cart track, no space to turn around and impossible to turn back. If I can track down the providers then I shall let them know.

Not much going on besides a pub or two, depending on where in Branscombe you are exactly. The roads around are very tight, like only 1 car can pass at a time or you need to get real close to the hedge on either side, but it is doable and just take your time. You are rewarded once you get there. Check where to park before you get to your final destination as it can be limited. Branscombe has the sea, tons of footpaths and is a great quiet base.

Branscombe is a tiny village nestled into a valley with a long pebble and sand beach at the end of it. It is the perfect place for dog walking and you can easily access the South West coastal path though this is not for the faint hearted as it right on the cliff edge at times. The Masons Arms is at the centre of the village and is an essential visit with its warm atmosphere and lovely food. driving to Branscombe is a little tricky down a single track lane with passing places. Its also very steep. The village is on a steep sided slopes and roads so not good for anyone with mobility problems. Its a lovely little treasure of a place.

Such a beautiful place, a real hidden gem, The Masons Arms was a beautiful place to stay with amazing staff and food! Felt that that nothing was too much trouble, from check in with the lovely Donna, that showed us to our rooms with our fresh milk jug! And a fully stocked mini bar with ice cold water ! and booked dinner for us which was delicious. Highly recommend this beautiful place.

I would imagine Branscombe would once have been a pleasant little community but now it appears to be a lock up and leave village which is really sad. Like so many other small village dotted around the U.K. there seems to be no sense of community, probably bustling in summer months with holiday makers. There is a lovely walk from the village down to the coast along the river side part way. There are footpaths but some are hidden. A quiet spot for an early spring break but watch the narrow windy single track roads and pray you don’t meet a lorry! There are great coastal paths here for walkers and it’s a nice spot for dog walks. The rooms at the Mason’s inn are impressive and comfortable. The little kitchen area in ours lacked cutlery, wine glasses, tea towels and a kettle. It had two fridges though and a coffee machine where you could get hot water. We really missed our cappuccino in the mornings for breakfast, the coffee provided at breakfast wasn’t great. All in all Branscombe is a nice place for a short stay.

We stayed in Branscombe because it was close to the location we were visiting the next day. It was a lovely village and the beach was only half a mile away. We could've spent at least two or three days there at the hotel.

Excellent food and amazing staff. Need to give big accolade to Finlay. Not just a great breakfast chef but came to my rescue when my car had a suspected puncture...a really decent kind chap who gave his help willingly without question. Also Joeo for his fantastic cocktails and joyful presence. He brought cheer to a very wet week. All of the staff are a delight...they are the best part of this hotel !

Good food and prompt service. Room well appointed and coffee machine and fresh milk appreciated. The many steps to the cottages were well signed. WiFi was good enough for Zoom meetings. Lovely village with easy walking to Branscombe beach.
