Iain and Jack were the absolute stars of One Drake Road, and everything was extraordinary, so that’s saying a lot. They are jovial and warm, welcoming and familiar and they gave us the best advice for every facet of our stay. They are the Devon and Cornwall tour guides that we didn’t expect, but certainly needed and we are SO grateful. Every time we would leave or arrive, the boys would pop their heads out of the front door to make sure we were sorted. This is the kind of service you could only expect from the best 5 star hotels. The property was also INCREDIBLE. We didn’t want to leave. It was clean and comfortable and homely, the boys have done an exceptional job on the design. It feels like home, but better decorated. The toiletries were out of this world. I didn’t need to wash my hair, but I did, because smelling like geranium felt like an opportunity I shouldn’t miss out on. We cannot wait to come back. From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome. The proprietors were very personable and just so easy to chat with. Food was top notch, classic English fare and absolutely delicious, we had dinner there three evenings. Completly cosy and just easy to be there.

Very nice dinner, staff, room was exceptional. It was the single most pleasant hotel experience I had in the past 3.5 years of international work travel. I would stay here again on my own accord.

A friendly warm welcome awaited us at the Dartmoor Inn. Super comfortable bed, cosy room with a beautiful view. Lovely homemade biscuits & tea/coffee awaited us on arrival. Lovely friendly staff - cosy well stocked bar & excellent restaurant with a great menu & excellent food!

Great host and surrounding areas.

Great host and surrounding areas. Facilities were fine, but don't expect luxury as you aren't paying a luxurious price. We had a great time & our 2 dogs loved the countryside and local pubs.

I was a little sceptical having just read the recent...

I was a little sceptical having just read the recent scathing review but i cant say i agree with aything that was said and maybe this property just wasnt for them or they hadnt done thier research prior to booking.The property was as described with a lovely bathroom, kitchen with ample facilities and the location was stunning set in the Devonshire countryside with lots of wildlife to see. You get a whike annexe for your money not just an ensuite room as I normally stay in and yes the property is old and has bags of character and this is reflected within the annexe itself with the style and furniture. I didn't check every cupboard, nook and cranny but I found the accommodation very clean and welcoming indeed. Deb and Mark were fantastic and welcoming and even recommended a few local pubs to grab a bite to eat. Came across this after my original accommodation was cancelled but will definitely stay again and even bring my girlfriend and dog to enjoy the walks.

The cottage is very rural with lovely views.

The cottage is very rural with lovely views. We came here for a family wedding in a village close by so it was the ideal location for us. We were only there for a weekend so didn't have time to explore the local area. The cottage is well equipped and the beds were comfy. Phone signal and wifi not great but OK for us. Debbie the host was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

A nice olde self-catering unit.

A nice olde self-catering unit. Really quiet, really comfy beds, good heating and shower. A very welcoming and communicative host (Debbie). The bedroom is the living room, so sitting on the small sofa doesn't work for watching tv. The cooker is small and a bit limiting, but otherwise the kitchen and dining area are well equipped, including a microwave, and fridge (with freezer compartment). The wifi is unfortunately very poor. We enjoyed our 2 night stay.
