The level of attention to details is amazing at this boutique hotel. Not only it is visible that the someone thought very carefully at so many things, but also the staff was extremely friendly. Such a nice place, with a great vibe. I was with my extended family and everybody was so helpful, in a relaxed manner.

If you can, book a room with seaview! Loved loved loved this hotel and my view was fantastic, overlooking the pier and the promenade, the beach, and people-watching sitting in my window, loved it! (See 2 photos of my view.) Room was spacious and light, great sleep in the most comfy bed ever! Really nice common areas with sofas and reading chairs if you want to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or coffee and read a book, overlooking the ocean, little nooks for anyone who want to sit in peace and read or work on their computer. The direct-bus from Heathrow airport is only a 3-4 minute walk away. Will definitely come back!

We had the absolute best time staying at Maxines Guest House! She is such a funny and lovely host and really cares about her guests! Each room is decorated so individually and with great attention to detail. The rooms are also so cozy and clean! The breakfast was amazing, everything freshly cooked! FAQs about hotels in Brighton & Hove

Colourful by Day and Night

Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.

Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.

A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.

Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

Brighton at this time of year is such a vibe.

Brighton at this time of year is such a vibe. The city centre was beautifully decorated, with plenty going on, including a free mini grotto for families. With a bit more research, I would have stayed longer, but I wasn’t able to on this occasion. I’m already excited at the thought of returning — 3–4 days would be ideal to explore more. My favourite place to go was the city centre and my go to now is Milos.

We were in Brighton to attend a concert at the Brighton Centre. There is a good variety of shops and places to eat (would recommend the Wetherspoons just around the corner from the venue - very friendly staff, large menu and good variety of drinks all very resonably priced. The only bad point is the parking charges. We parked from 1pm til 11pm at Regency Square car park and it cost £35 - absolute rip off - but you have no option.

Loved the Lanes for Restaurants and independent shops. Sadly not many open on the Sunday so missed out a bit. The Ice rink at the Pavilion was great to sit and watch skaters and have a drink. Sealift Centre was Brilliant. Turkish Restaurant Ephesus is just amazing food.

Simply a beautiful place where you live as in the 80' / 90' when life was a lot more enjoyable and all the places.. bars, cafes, restaurants, shops.... were fun and joy all the times. Plus lots of attractions, like Brighton Marina, The Brighton Pier, The Lanes... and lots of other attractions, make Brighton a lovely place to visit. Overall also a safe place, with lot of people everywhere but at the same time quiet and peaceful as people are really relaxed and friendly. I love it !

Main reason for visit was to see Stewart Lee at the Brighton Dome Concert Hall, excellent show, top draw standup performer. The Brighton Dome is a super venue with the friendliest and most helpful staff. It was November and the sea was a bit wild but the weather was still very warm and sunny during the day. I dined at some super restaurants and stayed at a very nice hotel. Brighton is a very cosmopolitan city with a lot of excellent shops and dining venues as well as being blessed with lots of sea air of course :)

A great base for a weekend in Brighton and Hove, close to the seafront but some way from the centre so quieter than some central hotels. Very clean and a comfortable bed. The hotel laid on an early breakfast for participants in the Brighton Marathon. The restaurant doesn't serve an evening meal, but there's a great choice of cafes and restaurants nearby and if you prefer a takeaway the hotel will provide crockery and cutlery to eat it in the bar.

We had a fantastic stay at Drakes Hotel. It is positioned within easy walking distance of the town centre, the pier and facing the beach. It has very good and friendly staff, a lovely little bar and lounge for guests overlooking the seafront; and the room we had was very reasonably priced when comparing to other Brighton venues. I was informed the hotel has recently been bought and will be refurbishing the hotel, so all the above may well change!

Staff were so friendly and helpful. We asked for a late checkout on the day we left, and they gave it free. Lively area and best hotel for walking to the Brighton Centre as well as to gift shops on same road. Brighton Pier is not far away either, and there are many places to eat nearby if you don't wish to eat dinner in the bar/bistro part of Queens hotel. Overall, thank you for a great stay.
