Very welcoming experience right from the moment we entered. The renovation work is beautifully done and with in keeping of the age and character of the building. Knowledge of local area was very useful. Breakfast was perfect (also loved being able to have fresh milk in our bedroom instead of UHT milk). Plan to stay again and maybe for a longer stay.

I can name several arguments in favour of Ty Castell Guest House : Parking on site. A clean room. Quiet at night. Town center with pubs, restaurants and castle accessible by foot. Full english breakfast. However, what makes the establishment stand out among peers is the sincere hospitality of its owner. I was warmly welcomed by Steve upon arrival. He provided me with good suggestions for dinner. He also took time for conversation, something any lone traveler can appreciate. Steve is the heart and soul of Ty Castell Guest House and he will go out of his way to make your stay pleasant and memorable.

Very nice apartment with good parking in front. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable living area and bedrooms. The dining area was a bit small for 4 adults, but the outdoor area was good. We liked Caerphilly and enjoyed visiting the castle although parking in that area was difficult to find.

The castle grounds were delightful.

The castle grounds were delightful. Good for exercising and leisure. Unfortunately we stayed for just the week-end (to visit Cardiff half-marathon) plus Monday night and the local restaurants do not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our accommodation was perfect for the four of us within easy reach of local amenities with onsite parking for one car. The artisan bakery was a brilliant find. Easy access to train stations with direct access to Cardiff.

Caerphilly isn't a beautiful town, but it's a great place to...

Caerphilly isn't a beautiful town, but it's a great place to stay for stunning scenery half an hour away in the Brecon Beacons. It's ace is the Caerphilly Castle which is the second largest in the UK and should be on your bucket list.

We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily.

We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily. Only a couple of places were open. Luckily we got into YFan earlier and had a lovely rest and a tea while waiting for our room thanks to the hosts. They made our stay more pleasurable.

For business and just an overnight stay, we didn't spend a great deal of time exploring. I would definitely revisit though. Roads are clearly marked and there is lots of car parks or on street parking depending on the length of your stay. Quite hilly in some areas so worth driving around for 5 minutes to find somewhere more suitable if needed. Morrisons has a large car park limited to 3 hours. We visited the Courthouse for an evening meal and would highly recommend this pub. It's just lovely! Plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a view of the castle. Food and drink was good and the staff were polite and friendly. We also visited the Piccadilly for a game of pool. A quieter pub (Tuesday) but both locals and staff friendly.

Stunning listed manor house, walking distance from Caerphilly town centre. Wonderful room, very comfortable bed and great walk in shower. Communal areas impressive , clean and very comfortable, owners/staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Great breakfast as well.

The property is right off the centre of Caerphilly and is genuinely an impressive house to stay in. Modern and homely. It was great for my short stay to visit the area and Cardiff, and we would 100% stay again.

Easy to park. Handy location for walking to Caerphilly Castle/town centre, and for train into Cardiff. Easy access to woodland walks/Clay Pits and Caerphilly Mountain. Made good use of the rotary washing line.
