Nice and cosy! We loved the historic setting and the countryside style of the building itself and the garden. The room was comfy and well equiped. Everything is perfectly maintained and Francesca is a lovely host. She took care of all our needs while staying in Callander. We definetely come back again!

The best stay we had on our holidays in Scotland. We stayed in the garden room which included a small kitchen and a nice bathroom with a spacious shower and a bath. It was very clean, had a comfy bed, nice furniture, good WIFI and a brilliant view to the garden and river. We also enjoyed the delicious homemade shortbread and the drinking water from Loch Katrine. The breakfast was delicious with a bright choice. We loved the haggis, black pudding, eggs, fresh fruit salad and the yummi home made baking. The hosts made us feel very welcome. My husband asked Brian where to buy a cigar. 2 minutes later he came around with one, he never smoked. It was a high quality one! Thank you, Valerie and Brian, for making our stay so wonderful. It was great talking to you and hard to leave. We're looking forward to our next stay with you. Hopefully soon! Best wishes

Allready rated it somewhere else? A loft type conversion but a very large one. Owners made every effort to make our stay with online helps.     The town as everything you need, several pubs and resturants, shops, small supermarket (Tesco express opposite property) Co-op the other end of High Street. Tourist Info centre had lots of walking, cycling leaflets and places to visit. A good weeks worth of walking & cycling from the front door.

    The atmosphere was friendly it was busier than it has been. Disappointed to see so many businesses boarded up. Even Greggs?!?! The Dreadnought was much better looking since Caledonian took over. Live music could pay dividends for the Waverley as it was dead on Saturday night?!?!?

    Family of 4 including two teens.

    Family of 4 including two teens. They were able to please themselves and look around the town with ease or go to the rec over the bridge, and we had time to enjoy the lovely independent shops in Callander and visit a pub or two. We had fish and chips one night from the town and visited the ice cream shop, but there's a good variety of places to eat and drink. We did some great walks up to the Bracklin Falls and the crags. You can also take a longer walk/run around Loch Venacher and the public path takes you through a lovely farm (Achray farm) where they sell ice cream and sorbet - you can drive there also. We used Callander as a base and had days out to the highlands and visited Glencoe, and also went to Loch Lomond, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Visited in August. Be prepared for midges in abundance!!

    Historical place for a stop on your way to The Highlands. Good Crown Hotel with excellent continental breakfast for a reasonable price. Free parking all day close by behind the Crown Hotel on Glenartney Rd.

    The last town on the A84 before the Highlands.

    The last town on the A84 before the Highlands. You can feel the surrounding hills calling you North. Great for food, just stopping by the river, or a bit of shopping. One of the UK's great small towns.

    I love this part of the world. Nothing more to say.

    I love this part of the world. Nothing more to say. I've been coming to Callander for over 50 years and there's nowhere I would avoid. I would recommend The Waverley, The Crown, the taste of the Trossachs and the Mhor bread and store.

    Very clean, extremely roomy and comfortable accommodation in lovely surroundings on outskirts of Callander. We didn't meet the owners but they communicated well by text. The weather when we were there was atrocious so we were unable to do planned autumn walks but as there was a Music Festival on we enjoyed some great live music and food in the very nice Callander pubs. We hope to return for the walks and would have no hesitation booking West Mains again.

    The Crown Hotels town centre location is in close proximity to Callanders shops and facilities, which is great. The hotel staff are lovely and very helpful. We enjoyed our meals in the bar restaurant, which has a varied menu and serves good food. Our double room was clean, warm, and comfortable. I would confidently recommend this hotel.

    The dreadnought Hotel is in a great location very comfortable the bar and our room we had was fantastic had a really good night in the bar will definitely stay there again. Would recommend to anyone absolutely brilliant. Staff was amazing thankyou for our stay.
