The exceptionally helpful and professional staff, together with the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere of the hotel, guaranteed a most enjoyable stay. Our room was extremely comfortable and most attractive with an en-suite bathroom in which everything functioned perfectly. Breakfast at the hotel was one of the high points of the day and for the staff, nothing was too much trouble: the dishes served from the extensive menu were all quite delicious. The Royal truly is a most remarkable hotel.

The property was very accommodating, comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. We were made to feel very welcome by the proprietor Brian who helped us with our bikes and gave us lots of useful information. It was a very inviting and friendly atmosphere. After a long days cycling he took us both a glass of wine up to then terrace where it was very nice to sit and relax in the sunshine. (His nice Savingnon Blanc was also much cheaper than the surrounding bars) . His home grown strawberries were plentiful and very tasty too. A perfect stay.

This is the perfect country pub. It is stylish and clean and the food is excellent, but it is not in the slightest pretentious or ‘gastro’. We ate a delicious dinner, stayed in an extremely comfortable, well decorated and well maintained, family room and ate a hearty, gourmet standard, breakfast featuring local produce. The rate for the room and breakfast was so reasonable it seemed wrong not to be paying more. Best of all, the staff were unusually friendly, welcoming and good with our three, often boisterous, children. They even rang us ahead of our arrival to warn that there was a party being held in the pub the evening of our arrival and letting us know that it might be noisy (which it was not!). I could not recommend this hotel and restaurant more highly.

Brambles is set in a stunning peaceful spot overlooking neighbouring countryside and horses. The Shepherds hut is beautifully decorated and really thoughtfully furnished/equipped with everything you could possibly need. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Check in was easy and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Overall, we had such a relaxing, albeit brief, stay - our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer! We very much hope to return when back on the IOW next year and highly recommend staying at Brambles 😃

Really nice hotel with friendly staff. The food service for dinner was wonderful, really quick and beautiful food. Dog was welcomed and had a good time too. Room was pleasantly clean and seemed to have not long been carpeted etc. shower had good pressure.
