Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end, was only here for one night and we have all agreed we cannot wait to come back again. Cottage was warm upon arrival and spotless. It exceeded my expectations for the budget price that we had to pay. I was blown away with what we had for the cost of our stay. £40 for two people and there was a sauna, a gym, a steam room. Although budget it's 100% worth and value for money, but remember it is a budget. Stay bear that in mind the holiday is what you make it. We met some wonderful people. Thank you for this day. A small, yet quite lovely little place. The thing that makes it is the people. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, a great place! There isn’t an abundance of shops and if you want a quick and cheap bite to eat there are a few weatherspoon/hungry horse type of places around.

A cute village feel with some lovely history and quite a few cute shops. Plenty of choices for take away food locally and our host had thoughtfully left these with our personal welcome note, which was a lovely touch.

We stayed near to Alton Towers, and it was a short drive to...

We stayed near to Alton Towers, and it was a short drive to the resort. Alton Towers is in the middle of nowhere, and signage sometimes led us part way, and then just stopped. The SatNav lost signal, and Google Maps saved the day. We had a fantastic day - it was our granddaughter's 4th birthday, and her first trip to a theme part. We were lucky with the weather, so couldn't fault anything. The queues for the rides weren't too bad, and as we brought picnics, we didn't need to wait for refreshment.

Abbey was so helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was spacious, spotless and well looked after. The pub across the road was really convenient and nearby Cheadle was a lovely place to wander around and grab food. Highly recommended. A great place to stay to access this part of the Peak District.
