We used Cracoe as a base for exploring the surrounding area. We ate at the Fountaine Inn which was five minutes away where the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious and plentiful.

A small hamlet on the road from Grassington to Skipton.. no local amenities, but Devonshire Inn is the locals place to gather, or just pop in for a drink, or a meal. Neighbours, with two young children were in enjoying freshly prepared pizzas when we came down for our dinner. The local ladies rounders team popped in with their visiting team for supper after their match.. Great atmosphere..

A small picturesque village nestled in the Yorkshire Dales, close enough to various attractions, Skipton Castle, Embsay Steam Railway, Haworth (Bronte museum) to enjoy without being in the fairly busy towns themselves.

Lovely village. Pub with good food approx 250 metres. Easy access to Skipton 5 miles, Grassington 3 miles. Plenty of local walks. Glorious scenery. If walking at night, take a torch as no street lighting
