Host and staff all very helpful and accommodating during our stay. The family room was very clean, lovely decor, cozy beds and bathroom all good..all made the more welcoming by the homemade cookies in the room. We had dinner and breakfast at the Inn, all of which was first class (product and cooking), against the tranquil setting of the open fire. Overall , fully recommend a weekend away or overnight stay (as we did) in the Compasses Inn , all the comfort, quality and warmth one requires when looking for a relaxing stay.

Everything from the moment we arrived until we left. The building itself is very cute, the staff greeted us warmly and the room was sympathetic. Food was also amazing (we had onpy breakfast but would aasume lunch/dinner is also great). Additionally, I’m a light sleeper but I slept perfectly on the good bed and pillows.

This was a lovely place to stay. The room wasn’t overly large but sufficient space. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows ( always one of the issues) were comfortable, not those huge fat things that look great on the bed but are horrible to sleep on).. Bathroom was clean with shampo and conditioner available (I didn’t use them as we were only there one night). No fridge for the milk but the flask was fine. Not sure about other room but room 5 shower did spread water everywhere so it pays to be more careful than I was. Sorry about that, I hope it all dried ok. Breakfast was amazing. I had the eggs benny and they kindly made scrambled eggs on toast for my partner as a special request. Yummy croissants. Great marmalade.

The room was immaculate. It is small so would be cosy for a couple but certainly perfect as a solo traveller. I couldn’t fault Jess and Steve who offered a really warm welcome and were happy to help with any queries throughout my stay. The local pub, The Royal Oak, is only a 5 minute walk away and a great place for drinks or food as you need.

Great welcome, very friendly host.

Great welcome, very friendly host. Good facilities & excellent choice at breakfast (continental) Huge field at the rear of the property was excellent for dog walking. Lovely pub/restaurant within one mile easily walked to. The bed could do with an upgrade as the mattress was a bit flat. Otherwise very happy with our stay & would visit again if in the area as it was excellent value for money.

We used the cottage as a base to explore wider area.

We used the cottage as a base to explore wider area. Salisbury Museum and Cathedral were great. The park and Ride bus service was brilliant and very easy to access from Wilton. Lots of interesting places within 20 mile radius of the cottage.
